Today is another easy step that shouldn't take too much time.
From shirting cut 36 squares 2 1/8”, then cut on the diagonal to make 72 triangles
Attach to one side of your half square triangles, press, then attach to the other side. Make sure you are sewing on the blue triangle. (or whatever color you have chosen)
You should end up with 36 of these units.

Feel free to use your own color choices! That is what makes quilting so much fun. I'll use McLinky again at the end so we can see all the versions.
There was a lot of football watching going on at my house this weekend so I was able to finish Bonnie's Roll Roll Cotton boll mystery quilt. The border really ties it all together,. The directions were fantastic! Thank you Bonnie!

ReplyDeleteThe cotton boll quilt is awesome! One really good thing about doing a mystery quilt, is it seems to keep you working on it and spurs you on until it's finished. Great job!

I really want to make that doll quilt with some tiny antique scraps. Today I'm going to draw up a template (no ability to strip piece with this fabric) so I can quilt along. I might be a little behind, but I'm in!

ReplyDeleteRRCB's borders are pretty special. I read through all the directions too and that Bonnie sure has a handle on doing these complicated borders. Yours looks terrific!

Your RRCB is WONDERFUL...My blocks aren't sewn together yet. I paused to put a few UFOs on the quilt machine. Hopefully this week will get me progressing.

Tomorrow is block 2 of Barbara Brackman's Civil War quilt but I can't wait to finish the little doll quilt. I haven't posted pictures because you can't tell yet from the pieces but they're done.
