Bagolicious

I've been having fun, staying busy and enjoying the sun while its here. I made a quick trip to Moses Lake, WA to visit my dad. My brother from China who I only get to see once or twice a year has been to see us.

I made this little quilt for AAQI. I've been having a bit of internal turmoil watching my mom decline. Making a little quilt for The Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative  is my therapy. I'm sure you'll see it again once it is up for sale. The pattern is designed by Tonye Belinda Philips and is used with her permission.

I did a bit of home making and made some strawberry freezer jam. I don't eat much jam, but I had to taste test it and I say it is way better then store bought!!

Enjoy summer!!

  9. Love your purse piece, fun design and wonderful cause. I cooked up some strawberries for shortcake. I made banana snack cake to put it on, so nice treat even without sugar;)

  12. Adorable little bag! Don't you just adore all things Tonye! Sad to hear about your Mother, Lori. It is so hard. She did raise a wonderful daughter who quilts like a charm AND makes jam :) Can't wait to meet up in Sisters! Pam

  21. The bag purse is perfect. You did another great job!

I love freezer jam. I'll have to get to the farmer's market Sat to see what berries (or maybe peaches) they have.

  23. What a fun quilt - I love your fabric choices :)
My mom made strawberry freezer jam, and I just finished the last of the last jar recently. She is in assisted living now, and, I guess if I want some, I'll have to learn to make it myself!

  26. Just got back from Canada today and harvested my first crop of berries. I don't eat much jam, either, but love to make jam filled shortbread with homemade strawberry jam. Problem is, there is still so much left from last year in my freezer, don't know if I should make it this year.
Blessings and comfort to you concerning your Mom. That is rough--so sorry.
