This block went to the Caribbean and back without every having a stitch put in it! Finally DONE! Now to move on to the September block.

This went to the Caribbean and back too!! A few more lines of quilting and it will be ready to bind. I'll move on to the bright version of the same block. I'd like to get them both done before the show in Houston so Ami can take them with her to sell.

I happen to spot this at the grocery store the other day. It has some terrific shops in this issue. None are close to me, but it is fun to see the variety.

I've been enjoying this book. As a matter of fact, this may have went to the Caribbean with me too! LOL

My family at the beach this past weekend. Happy Birthday Rene!

We went deep sea fishing on the Enterprise. Great Captain and deck hand. Nice boat too!

My kids made hubby and I dinner! Wow and yum!!

Have a great weekend.

  1. I miss Oregon! It finally got into the 50's last night here in TX. Looks like you had a fun time with your kids. Isn't it great when they are grown up? Even though I get nostalgic thinking about when they were little.

  11. It looks like you had a wonderful time with your family. I must teach my kids to cook! I love the Bible block - it's my favorite so far! The sun and the whale are wonderful. Your lovely quilting adds so much to your appliqued flower. It will be fun to see those 2 flowers side by side.

  17. Love those Oregon beaches - fog, I don't think Idaho gets fog, not sure yet. I think your trained your kids really well, I must have failed when it came to cooking, they do however know where to go get my favorite thing to eat(pizza)! I told you about taking sewing on that cruise.....

  26. I know what is like to tote a project along on a trip and never touch it. I love your little AAQI quilt. I am doing a very big happy dance because I will be going to Houston this year. How I would love to be the one to purchase that quilt. I am also going to Portland and Seattle next month. Are there some quilt shops I must visit?

  33. I worked on my Bible blocks while on vacation. No way to make the words for embroidery so I still have that to do. But at least progress was made.

  34. I admire the precision of your stitching on both blocks. The bible blocks are great fun. That's going to be a special quilt when they're all done.
Definitely plenty of family time and relaxation going on. Those are the best times.
