Beyond the Cherry Tree

Here is block number 24- one more to go!!
I finished one border. I'm going to start prepping the next one.

I haven't been this excited about a quilt since finishing my Blind Man's Fancy. (which is at Linda's waiting to be quilted)

I'm sure it will be a few more months before the Cherry Tree quilt will be together, but it is nice to think about being so close.

  2. My favorite block! Love the border, too. I'm in the process of prepping a block for applique. Intentional applique, not just to fix my piecing errors! Have you ever used the back basting technique?

  5. Finishing is a WONDERFUL thing -- and being this close is very exciting! It's been quite a while since I've felt that high...time to get crackin'! Loved your Blind Man's Fancy, and your Cherry Tree is very, very tempting. How many buckets can a person have on their bucket list!?!
    Blessings!

  17. I love the orange and yellow fabrics you used in the flowers. They're pretty no matter when but they're perfect for fall! I just finished block 23 and will start this one today, hopefully, but I chose different colors than you. I hope I like mine as much as I like this one!

  31. Love this block--sunny, fun flowers and a great green stripe for the leaves and stems. What a gorgeous border. I keep more than arms length from applique projects (so I can't mess them up), but I know a great one when I see it. Beautiful job, Lori!
