Thanksgiving Project

Last year I had a big group at the house and we all made a fun Christmas banner. I enjoyed that so much I thought I'd spend Thanksgiving weekend making another holiday project.

This little table topper designed by Cheri was in the latest issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects.
The half pennies at the ends and the twigs and pennies on the sides are wool; the rest is cotton. It was a fun project.

Someone had asked me recently in an email if I was going to do another doll quilt quilt-a-long. I lost that email- I'm so sorry.
It seems there is always so much going on in blogland that I hadn't really given it much thought.  I'd love to do it so let me know if you are interested  and we'll start after the new year.

That is a beautiful table topper, Lori.
I haven't been in blogland long enough to know about your doll quilt QALs, but doll quilt size and starting after the holidays are a combination I could probably even do!

I am working steadily on hand-quilting my Midnight Stars - should be finished by the end of the year. Another doll quilt project would be a fun and satisfying challenge!

Your version is gorgeous, Lori!!!

Love it! The striped background adds a lot to the design. Glad you played with fabric in such a fun way :)

I still have to hand quilt the STrawberry Fields QAL but enjoyed it bunches!

Your topper is perfect!! I've never done a QAL as I still work full time and can't seem to finish what I have. But the doll quilts are so charming, I'll be watching...

Your new Thanksgiving project is cute. And very cheery looking. I am always up to attempt your quilt a long projects. Finishing is always an issue for me but your projects are great.

Cute little holiday project!

I would enjoy doing another of your QALs after the holidays though I have yet to quilt even one of your previous QALs (but two are layered and basted!). You do a good job on putting a QAL together, with wonderful inspiration pieces.

You sure are good at staying focused and finishing your projects. Any secrets?
I've loved the doll quilt-alongs that you've done, so if you have time for another, you can count me in!

You know I like the Cheri quilt patterns. I know you enjoyed making it. With my company, I did not have a chance to work on a fun project like this.
I think you would have plenty of people interested in another small quilt along like you have done in the past. It is not a big committment of time to make one.

Nothing like a holiday project to get you in the Christmas spirit. What fun is it to work on them in July? I would love to join your doll quilt Qal. Keep me on the list.

What a gorgeous little quilt! Love the wonky rail fences in the middle.
An congratulations on the successful sale of your AAQI quilts.

Your table topper is charming. I've not seen that magazine yet but have heard great things about it.

Gayle said...

Cute, cute! Did everyone use the same fabrics? Or were they a wee bit different?

Your quilt made me smile, Lori. It's so sweet, and it's neat to see fellow quilters making the projects from the magazine. I would love it if you did another doll quilt quilt-a-long!

Great table-topper!!! It has such personality, I love it!!!

I got that magazine at JoAnn's and love it! I really like the table runner and I'm thinking about making it and the pincushion on the following page.

Love your table topper, Lori - it is fantastic! I might be up for a QAL as long as it's small and after Christmas!

Very nice table topper! Cheri does primitive so well! :)

I've made all your QALs, I've just not quilted and bound them is all! LOL!!

You know I'm a sucker for your QALs so definitely count me in but please take your time, the last thing you need is to stress about it.

And yeah.....I'm in! Would love to do another quilt along! Yay!

You make such lovely things! I especially like the scrappy center - it's fabulous! Oh yes - I'd love another quiltalong!

Hi Lori, Your table topper looks great. I have just purchased that magazine and want to make almost everything in it!

Cheryl said...

Cute table topper and yes, I would like to do another quilt along, but definitely after the holidays.

I have completed both Midnight Stars and Strawberry Fields so I'm definitely up for a third QAL! January is the perfect month to do it.

Love the table topper!

AnneElizablog said...

Hi Lori, me again. I suggested you do a QAL on a quilt you featured in your post of October 18 from the Aurora Colony Quilt Show. It's the blue, gold, yellow and black one at the end. I also like the quilt in your current blog header.

Don't you just love Cheri's work. This one is farther up the list than most of the others. Great job!

Belinda said...

Great little piece Lori!!! Colors are just great!!

Jill said...

If you do start another quilt along.....it might force me to finish the two I have started. Cheddar Cheese and Crackers just needs the binding put on and I have some piecing left on the second one. But, I love them and would jump into a third if you decide to start one.

It is so cute. I have that issue of the magazine and I noticed that project. You made it look great!

Well isn't this a cute, happy project. I dig that. I really dig how you can express your quilting joy in so many different ways. That's what I really Dig! (did Porter have a good Thanksgiving?)

Of course I'd love a quilt-along. I missed the last one and I'm sorry for it, too.

very cute! love that pink. isn't that a great new magazine?

Count me in! I've been thinking about a doll quilt wall since that CL article about 25 years ago. I finally got started on it this week with my first small top but I think working on one in a group would be fun.
