Quilting on Pink Lemonade and Winners

I've been doing some quilting, but moving along rather slowly. I usually do my quilting in the evening when we watch tv for an hour or two. last night I wasn't feeling well so I went directly to bed. Hopefully tonight I can get more stitches put in.
I did a mix of techniques, which you cannot see in the photo.

So I put my Photoshop skills to use! Don't laugh too hard! The original antique quilt was tied and not quilted at all. I think the ties made it darling, so I added them in cotton DMC thread at the intersections. You can see that by the asterisks. The quilting is the black lines. I didn't think it needed too much as it is a simple pattern  and a simple quilt.
I kept that playful bit when I added the pink binding cut on the bias. I wouldn't usually cut it that way for a small quilt  but I really wanted the spiral effect. I think it works!
I'm thinking about the first of February I'll add Mr Linky so we can have a lemonade party. I love seeing everyone's version! If you do not have a blog send me your photo and I'll add it.

OK, without further ado the winners of my 500 blog post giveaway are:

Vicky F- larger black and white quilt

Daisy Julz- smaller black and white quilt

Lori-quilted horses- Machine applique quilt book

Lorraine- Brannock Wool applique book

Please contact me with your mailing address and I'll get the packages ready to go out on Monday.

Congratulations and thank you all for entering.

  1. The floss ties on the corners will be perfect with the rest of the quilting (of course)!

  2. Congrats to all your winners, Lori.
Your little Pink Lemonade quilt has inspired me to hand quilt this one. I have just finished stitching up the corner blocks, so all the blocks are made, but I think that is as far as I will get tonight. Hopefully on Monday I will get the top to flimsy stage. I like the idea of the ties with the quilting. We'll see what I actually end up doing. : ) Thanks for a very fun QAL. I'm glad I joined in--it was my first.

  3. Love the photoshop squiggles. Thanks so much for the drawing--machine applique is something I don't do--so the book will be an opportunity to learn a new technique!

  17. So much temptation in blogland - everyone is following your QAL! Yesterday I did take a peek at my stash and had planned to give in to the temptation. Then I had a phone call and some visitors, so I'm still attempting to resist!
