Monthly Block Progress

I got three March blocks done for my red and green Christmas quilt. (lousy photo with my phone in a low light room)

I also started to get them set so I won't have it all to do at the end. 9 blocks made 11 to go!!

I'm getting better and better with the pesky set- in seams. Yay!

  1. Good for you, on the set-in seams, Lori. Maybe if I would attempt them again I would be able to say the same someday. But I am too wimpy. : )
I love the maverick blocks mingled in. Another great quilt!

  7. I haven't done many Y seams, except for the civil war blocks. I think there were a couple. Otherwise, I have stayed away from there. I guess I'm wimpy like Janet.

  9. Loving these blocks. I started a new project on the weekend, OK I started 2 new projects. I think I have to follow your idea and start sewing some blocks together on a piece that doesn't need a design wall. You will be a master of Y seams after this is finished!

  13. Lovely to see your progress on this quilt. I could sure use some practice with set-in-seams - I'm such a wimp! Setting the blocks as you sew them is a great idea.

  19. Red and green -- always a classic combination. I see you'll be mixing the red and green around just a bit for some variety. Those set-in seams can be so frustrating, but practice makes perfect, and looks like you're doing it easily. This will be a lovely, heirloom Christmas quilt.
