I was heading north and my kids asked me to stop by and see them on my way. They wanted to spend more time but I needed to get moving. We had a nice chat over coffee and walk along the river. These are 2 reasons to love Mother's Day!

Before leaving town I made a quick stop at Fabric Depot. If you are ever in the Portland area you should stop in. There prices are not as low as they used to be but they sure have a variety!

You need fabric? They have fabric!

You like Civil War reproductions? They have plenty!
Lots of batting!
Rulers? (they do not have the ones made by Primitive Gatherings yet- I looked!)

Button, button, who's got the button?

Look what I spotted on my way out? A gorgeous rack of French General! One of my favorite Moda lines.

This is one reason I love this line! What a fun toile!

Have a lovely day!

  1. Your children are gorgeous. Glad you had a nice Mother's Day. That does look like a good fabric shop!

  2. I'll be visiting Fabric Depot when we come out for a visit pretty soon. Can't wait to see my family and get away from the pollen here in Virginia. Such a cute Mothers Day picture!

  3. Glad you had a great Mother's Day. Your daughter looks so much like you, lucky her! We are so lucky to have our children within frequent "visiting distance". French General is one of my favorite too. Yummy.

  4. The picture of you and your children is so lovely !
The "toile de Jouy" was very popular in France in the 19th ! And now it is in America ! Great ;) !

  5. What a wonderful treat to be with your kids on Mother's Day. I had a friend who went to Fabirc Depot last year. She was completely overwhelmed. Looks like you had fun.

  6. que hijos tan guapos!!!
si fuera un pajarito ya estaría en esa tienda
    volviéndome loca de ver cosas

  7. Lucky you to spend a bit of time with your two kids on Mother's Day. I suspect you are on your way up to Bellingham/Ferndale. I will be spending my day today cutting squares for your class tomorrow. Looking forward to meeting you. Travel safe!!

  8. Your kids look a lot like you. Nice that you got to see them.
The fabric store looks like it has plenty to tempt me. Did you purchase any goodies?

  9. That fabric shop looks amazing! I'm glad you had a fun Mother's Day :0)

  10. Great looking kids, Lori. How nice to at least catch a few moments with them.
Wow, what a store! System overload if I were to step in there, for sure!!

  11. Nice picture of you and your kids. What a nice way to spend Mother's Day!

  12. Beautiful kids! Your daughter looks just like you and your son like your husband. And what a fun shop, I d be lost for days.

  13. Beautiful family! Fabric Depot looks like a wonderful shop. Sadly, not a day trip from Iowa. :(

  14. Great to spend time with your kids. Fabric Depot looks like a great place to visit, maybe in August.

  15. Love that picture of you and your kids. I think I need to visit a fabric store today

  16. Happy Mother's Day to you! I love visiting Fabric Depot when I have a layover in Portland. The hotel shuttle takes me there! LOL

  17. It is so good when your kids want to spend time with you - especially on Mother's Day! I was with one of my sons and my DGD. One of these days I have got to go to Fabric Depot! I'm trying to use my stash mostly, but when you need a large piece for backing, you just have to go buy some. I'm running out of large pieces. Of course, I do piece backings a lot too, but sometimes don't want to.

  18. Love the picture with your kids. Say hello to Kenny from us all.
and I really think that fabric depot must be heaven!

  19. Wow what a fabulous shop!

  20. Lovely picture of you and your children and if I ever go to Portland........

  21. lovely family! this shop is awesome!
