European Patchwork Finale

I thought I had completed everything I was going to share about the trip to France, but I found a post that I had not published yet. Last one...I promise!

I saw some great antique quilts for sale by Jane Lury "Labors of Love". I'm not sure why she wasn't in the vendor area. It didn't seems like the antiques had a big following as this is an artsy kind of show. I knew my blog readers could appreciate the antique quilts.

When we left Alsace we went to........
Germany for a quick beer. Then on to:

The Museum of Printed Textiles in Mulhouse. It was amazing!

Look how tedious and complicated printing fabric used to be!

This was the center square where we parked for the museum. What lovely old buildings.

After that we made our way about 420km through France back towards CDG airport.

We stayed the night outside of Reims, which is champagne country. Of course, we had to try it!

The next morning we made our way back to the airport, dropped our car off and continued our adventure in Iceland. But you saw those photos yesterday That concludes my adventures to the European patchwork Quilt show! Thanks for your enthusiasm and kind words. It was very memorable!

  6. Loved seeing all the photos of a very memorable trip. The top photo just tells us how much Quilter's are alike, despite country borders and countless decades.

  18. Love your pictures. It sure looks like you both have a fabulous experience. It's so nice having a car to be able to stop along the way! Did you think the antique quilts were different than what we have seen in Sisters being sold by our lady??

  20. I had a layover in Iceland back in the 80s. My favorite memory was how light it stayed all night. Of course, I was there in August. Thank you for sharing your travelogue. I enjoyed every word and picture.
