Quilters Madder Part 3

I was trying to avoid you cutting, sewing, cutting,  sewing and have you do all the cutting at once. I've changed the directions to try and clarify them! Updated October 17, 2016
For this step we will be using the half square triangles we made last week.

From each of your 4 hst madder/background fabrics.....

....cut four (4) 2" squares and  lay them out like the photo above to make a cute little bowtie 4 patch.
Do that with all 6 background/madder pairs.

Using the 2 hst background/madders do the same.
You will have 16 of these little bow-tie 4 patches.

Using the background fabric of your 12 hst/bowties cut two (2) 2 3/8" squares. Cut the 2 3/8 squares on the diagonal to make 4 triangles.
Cut (1) 2 3/8" square for your single bowtie/4 patches, then cut it on the diagonal to make 2 triangles.

Add them to your hst, one side at a time, pressing before adding the second triangle as shown in the photo.

 Press toward the background triangles.

For the single bowtie/4patch,

Get your madder and cut a square 3 7/8" then on the diagonal for 2 triangles. (we are only using one)
Lay out your madder triangle as shown and sew.
You should end up with 4 of these.

Cut another matching madder 3 7/8" then cut on the diagonal. You'll be using both of these to make 12 of these blocks. They should measure 3 1/2"

The finale is next Friday and I'll show the antique that inspired this little "Quilters Madder" quilt.
