Celebrate Summer!

Happy Wednesday! The past couple of weeks it has started feeling like summer. My house is finally decked with my patriotic decor. Since I haven't done any sewing this week I thought I'd show you around.

This little quilt was made by my late friend, Jill. I treasure each piece she made for me.
Red and white on a red chair! What's not to love? The top quilt was made by Karen for my 50th birthday. I treasure it too!
Another red chair!

I made this doll eons ago but still love her to pieces! She watches over my house year round.
My friend Laurie made this from antique blocks. I treasure this too! (are you seeing a theme? I really do treasure the gifts and quilts I am given)
George Washington graces the wall at my entry way.
This quilt was made at my first class at the Sisters Show, in 1998  My friend, Kathy,  came from Ohio and we had to take the class with the title "To Sisters Through Ohio!" The Sisters Outdoor quilt show is this Saturday with classes going on all week.
A sure sign of summer at my house.

Last night we had amazing skies all around! I took this photo and the next 2 as we took the dogs out for a quick walk around the neighborhood.

I had a wonderful 4th of July.
I'm heading to Randy's house in Sunriver today and usually my trunk is packed. She is providing me with a sewing machine, so that is helpful, but this is all I'm taking and this includes clothing! I think it's a record small pile!
One more sign of summer in Central Oregon!!

If you are going to be at the Sisters Quilt show I'd love to meet you!  Send me an email!!

  3. You do like patriotic style quilts. I like how you have little quilts rolled and in the crock. And the chair with stacked quilts. And love your porch. I have wanted a porch similar to that for a long time. It wouldn't look right on our home. Here, so many people have screened lanais at the back of their homes and no one sits out front. Us included. I enjoyed the tour.

  6. Your home is beautiful, and beautifully decorated as well, with things you love. It's great to see quilts out in plain sight, rather than packed away where no one can see and enjoy them! Thanks for sharing! ---"Love"

  21. Thanks for the tour! Nice how you display everything. Sure wish I was going to be in Sisters this weekend. Missing the show by a week. Will be picking up 2 granddaughters in Bend on the 15th, then taking them on a scenic tour back to Phoenix, AZ for their summer break - they'll certainly appreciate OR weather when they get back.
