Beyond the Cherry Tree Revisited

This post is a reminder for me to get out this quilt and continue my hand quilting!
I knew it would be a long term hand quilting project when I finished the top. It is about 100x100 and I'm slow as molasses!

I am copying the original antique quilt motifs. This was generously provided by Gay at Sentimental Stitches. She just had a sale on this pattern but I missed it! I would have loved to pass on that savings to you all!

  11. Your quilt is just gorgeous! I know how you're doing it, but I don't know how anyone decides how to quilt a quilt like this one. I would be so overwhelmed that it would never get done.

If it were fast and easy, everyone would do it. Enjoy the quilting journey!

  14. Cheering you on - keep at it!! Each stitch will be a treasure to you. Mine laid folded in a basket for a couple of years and I finally decided on a realistic goal date to finish...now I sleep under it every winter night (it has a washable wool batt). I often think of all of us who made this journey together and would post our completed block each month, excited to see which block Gay would give us next...good times!

  15. Well no wonder you're slow, 100 x 100! That's a huge quilt! Love the texture that's already showing. It'll still be wonderful if it takes you another couple years.:)

  16. It is looking wonderful, well worth the time you are taking. Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Had 3" of snow here in SE Texas, how strange is that for us. I think everyone needed it after Harvey.
