Finally on a Friday

I'm so glad to be back to posting, hopefully on a normal schedule again.
I  suggested you try and get your 2 parts of the Liberty quilt together. I took my own advice!

It isn't the best photo, but the bottom row is all that's left! Whoop! Whoop! Next Friday we will have a linky party and see how everyone is doing. Monday October 1st will be the final instructions!! Cheri would be so proud of your creativity!

I won this cute panel to make a fall/halloween banner from Quilters Coop. I haven't had a chance to look online and see how I am supposed to do it! Any thoughts?

Here's my instagram for the last week.

If you'd like to see how I'm staying active this late summer check it out HERE. I've had a blast and can do way more than I think I'm capable of doing. I bet you can too!

I signed up for a half marathon many months ago and although I haven't been running a lot race day is here!

Take care lovely friends and enjoy your weekend.

  4. The triangle shapes look big in the picture. If so, would be a lot of weight with batting and backing to attach to a cord of some kind. Maybe just some interfacing inside and a backing. If you don't have a place to display it, you could leave it whole, add batting and backing and make a table runner. Or just turn the edges under and hem for a cloth of some sort.

  5. Being in the middle of Florence has me in a stall mode right now but I'll get back to it soon. Thanks again for this fantastic sew along, I've had such fun making this with everyone in the group.

  6. Fun. I would cut out wool letters and applique onto each part of the banner and then use twine to hold each one together.

  7. Hmmm, right sides together and sew on the diagonal lines, then cut in between the sewing lines, turn inside out, press and sew onto tape? Guessing though....you might not be able to see the lines from the back or they might not meet up. Good luck, its cute bunting.

  9. Your Liberty quilt is delightful. I enjoy studying the little details to see how you made it your own.
I am no help on the banner. Never worked with something like that before. Hope someone can give you some clues.
    Hope the race went well!
I recall a funny thing in our family--my daughter runs and used to do half marathons, and even a marathon once. One time, after she had trained carefully for a half marathon, her brother thought he could just jump in and run it with her, certain it wouldn't be a big deal. She crossed the finish line long before he did, and was feeling pretty good. He came limping in much later, and had hobbled much of the race. It was a big plate of humble pie for him. :)
I'm sure you are in much better condition than he was!

  10. Check out the British style banners that are hung outdoors for festivals & celebration. Most have a thin cord or tape connecting the wide end of triangles together side to side . Finishing of the triangles depends on how long you want banner to last. It would also be a cute table runner. At least that is mho ..... Good luck

  11. It's been fun watching your Liberty quilt come together--looks great! I have a similar panel and have thought about fusing a second fabric to the back, pinking the edges of the flags, and making a folded tape out of the outer edge print to sew them together. Of course, I've had the panel for several years and haven't done a thing with it yet--especially since once it's completed I will have to figure out where to hang it--lol!

  14. I love seeing your finishing. Three of us are just starting, following along with last January this month - we started just recently, so will still be working on some of it in October, too.
