I know a local shop was featured once. She said they have about two weeks from the time they are notified that they were a selected shop until the time they have to have a finished quilt to them. Unless the shop has an in house designer, for some, that can be quite a feat. Some shop owners have no design ability but they have awesome merchandising ability. A great shop needs both. For the most part, I don't purchase Quilt Sampler anymore.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00801251430263990186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7554378824181841688.post-51086582462198736832011-10-21T05:50:29.404-07:002011-10-21T05:50:29.404-07:00What a great pumpkin pin cushion! Linda is quite prolific and makes such great quilts.<br />The quilt on the cover of the new Sampler is nice, I think. In general, most quilt magazines have gone to super easy, super fast quilts with not much creativity. Of course, there are exceptions. Anyone can cut out big pieces of fabric and arrange them into a pattern and sew them together. I'm looking for a pattern that is unique to that quilt shop or unique to that part of the country.
