Whirlwind Wednesday (in the best way possible!)

Here's a little eagle project for America 250. Some of the fabric is antique and I thought it would be fun to not do traditional red-white-blue.

After publishing I realized my eagle does not have the reverse applique red eye! I'll try a French knot.

And I couldn't decide on a patriotic backing, but LOVED this!

I saw the eagle collection of Pat and Arlan Christ in April. and bought the eagle pattern while there! This is the oldest eagle quilt circa 1830!

Okay, that's about it for quilts, but inspiration galore was in Washington DC!

Lincoln Memorial

So much patriotic  inspiration!

This is on the back of my eagle quilt.

I love Lady Liberty! I fussy cut these lovely ladies and have 2 blue left and 6 red. I'm selling them for $6.25 (postage included) to my blog readers  Send me an email at humblequilts@gmail.com if you are interested!

Pushing the red button for?.....hahaha

August whizzed right by!
Here are some highlights

Alpenglow on Mt Hood

First time backpacking with my daughter.

That's it for now friends! Fall is in the air here in Central Oregon! I plan on eking out as much summer as I can!!

  1. Fabulous pictures of D.C. (with no construction in them!) The photo of Lincoln was breathtaking! I haven't been to D.C. in a very long time. My son was in the 8th grade - he is now 47 - and they had a few extra seats on the bus for any of the parents that wanted to go. I am so glad I went.

    1. For anybody else who would like to know- George DeJarnatt is my husband's father and Nels Mikkelson is my father. They both served in WW2.

    2. But are their names up there always? How does it work ?

    3. We looked our names up prior to being at the front of the line and gave the volunteer a code. Then the name pops up on the screen! It was really special.
