Good morning! If you aren't familiar with the European Patchwork Meeting it is a lovely quilt show in the Alsace region of France . The show is spread out over 5 villages in the north of France.
The American Amish have it's roots in this area! It began in the late 17th century with Jakob Ammann and his followers in the Alsace/Swiss region before Amish communities eventually became so strongly associated with North America.
The international quilt museum had a lovely display with challenge quilts. It was called "Amish Reimagined"
I'm not sharing all of the "reimagined" versions.
Below is a special exhibit called
Hungarian Blue Legacy.
It was hard to capture photos, but was truly amazing exhibit!
Couldn't help but take a few photos of the stained glass windows!
Next up- modern quilts in an amazing OLD OLD church!
Les Textilo-Créatives
So much more than quilts to see. If you ever get an opportunity to attend I recommend it.
That's it for today. I think I'm finally over the jet lag hump!

ReplyDeleteJet Lag is REAL. Still in the middle of it after 3 weeks in Switzerland! Thanks for sharing these wonderful quilts!
ReplyDeleteThis is where most of my ancestors are from. Tho not Amish, they were weavers and quilters. Fascinating to see, thanks.
ReplyDeleteWow! That was an amazing tour. Thanks for sharing it with us. I loved every bits of it. ;^)
ReplyDeleteLoved so many of these pics but the 50 flowers was special. So was the kaleidoscope looking one.
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful quilts. I was really pulled to the Thousand Pyramids (though that isn't what I think of when I hear that name) in the moody purples and blues.
ReplyDeleteThe blue and white exhibit was lovely!
And I enjoyed the stained glass, too!
Such beautiful quilts! In particular I loved the blue-and-white Dear Jane quilt. Spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing photos of our "Textilo-Créatives" exhibition. The church is truly fantastic—I agree.
