Rose of Houston 2017

When I was in Houston this fall I purchased 2 similar antique blocks from Mary Koval. I sent one to my friend, Laurie. The challenge was to make a little quilt and exchange them.  We both sent them on January 2nd and both of them arrived yesterday!

This is what Laurie made me! Isn't is fantastic?! She used antique fabric and feedsacks.

Isn't this backing fun and unique?
She included a little tag with "Oregon" on it! How cool!
Everything about it is wonderful!
She also included these lovely goodies! That fabric is by Pepper Cory. Thank you so much Laurie!

And here is mine that she received.

The red, pink and black print in the border is antique that I also picked up at the Houston show.

So fun to see the same block looking completely different!!

It was a fun exchange! Maybe we will make it a yearly challenge!
Here is my instagram feed for the week.

Have an awesome weekend!
