Here’s my week at a glance.
We will have a bit of cleanup to do once the snow is gone and the ground is dry.
A couple winters ago we had massive snow and hubby invested in his back and ordered the plow! He’s been so helpful to many! Our church is going to be a winter shelter for the month of March and he’s been out every day trying to keep the lot cleared. He’s been extremely generous with his truck toy!
This has been my wheels this week.
Every morning it was more!! The dogs can hardly see over the berm!
Why can't we go out and play? They did, believe me, but there is only so much running a dog can do in 3 feet of snow!
And then yesterday the sun came out and we rejoiced! (It was only 5 degrees though!)
And then the power went out! I'm writing this blog post at work, because my cable and internet are still out. But the power is back on so that is good!
Then I tore this quilt off the wall!
On a quilty note.....
Here I was ironing the final seam of my 1857 Album Quilt. Woo-hoo!
Then I trudged through the snow to get a photo!!
On another note: I'll be going to WA a week earlier than I had announced. I'm going to the QA quilt show at the Evergreen Fairgounds in Monroe on March 15th, the the LaConner Museum on March 16th, followed by lunch! Please let me know if you can go to either of these. I'd love to meet you.
Also I forgot to mention on the Spencer Museum quilt I'll be working on the basket next.

I’m in the Catskill Mtns in NY. It seems the snow is endless but I don’t have as much as you. It’s in the teens here -HEATWAVE -but more cold coming. Hang on, spring is coming. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWow! That’s a ton of snow! It’s really pretty if you keep your power and don’t have to go anywhere. In central Indiana where I live we only have a dusting of snow and thatks fine with me! Your Album quilt is spectacular!

Whew!! That is a LOT of snow! It's pretty but as I watch is snowing hard out my office window this morning I join the world in saying "where is spring?".

Crazy, isn't it? What a blessing that your hubby had the plow! Very good of him to help where he can. This just isn't something you normally have to deal with to this degree!

I am planning to go to the QA show on the 15th, but that is dependent on a few things popping up. You got that heavy snow like we did a couple of weeks ago! There is still a little bit hanging around, but it's disappearing slowly.
ReplyDeleteYikes, that is a LOT of snow! Your 1857 quilt is fabulous and it looks so pretty in the snow :) Laughed when I read your comment about your Let It Snow quilt! Guess you've had enough of the white stuff for a while, lol!
ReplyDeleteBy all means you should take that quilt down and put up the "welcome spring" one! You are so right that snow is beautiful when you are retired and can stay home and quilt, but not when we still have to get the car out and go to work! Your 1857 quilt is gorgeous!
ReplyDelete1857 is stunning. Love it. I've never lived where there was more than 6" of snow at a time. Don't know what I'd do with 3 ft----sew in my PJ's for days.
ReplyDeleteSnow....fun...but not so much really when you have to trudge out to work. I could take snow every day of winter if I could stay in and cozy up with the fire, drink hot tea and sew or read.... ahhhhh, one day we will be permitted to retire ;O)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, 3 feet, and I am complaining about 10". I would have ripped that quilt off a week ago! New Month- hoping to get out more. No Fun meetings were attended in February! The Robins are so confused here. Tried to sew a bit each day to keep me sane.
ReplyDeleteAll that snow makes for pretty pictures but not much else! We had our fair share but are glad to see it gone and the sun shining now. You can expect daffodils in bloom on your way to La Conner . :-)
