Here’s my bag of strings to choose from. It always looks like a lot when I dump them out.
I have all the 6” blocks completed for the basket weave quilt!! 98 of them. It should assemble into a top fairly quickly. Paper is removed so it is ready to go!
Elsa is nuts over her ball!! There was food in her dish that she was eating too!! Silly girl!
I know many of you have stalled out on stringing this month and that’s okay. If you have something to share please add your link here!!
Wow, what great string blocks! Can't wait to see your basket weave quilt. Elsa is such a beautiful dog. Glad she's enjoying her ball!
ReplyDeleteI'd say you are making great progress - or much better than me anyway! I am one of those who has stalled this summer. I hope to get back to mine in a few weeks so I will have something to share next time. Thanks for your patience!
ReplyDeleteyour strings look like my strings, lol. Sweet pup!
ReplyDeleteMy summer break is coming to an end but I still have a few weekend adventures planned before w settle into fall.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing everyone's progress! As mentioned on FB I am one of the string slackers, I'm at the point of assembling the large top and have def stalled til it's cooler weather. But I'll be back! Love your pile of strings, do you cut them every time you get new fabric? If not, how do you accumulate them? I never have ''strings''...
ReplyDeleteElse is so cute and funny. Don t forget to start her on a Frisbee so she doesn t lose her ball in the snow next winter.

Looking forward to seeing your basket weave quilt come together. I can imagine the added dimension when the backing and batting are added and quilting begins. There's a huge pile of strings and scraps in one corner of the room, plus the small bins for each major color, scraps never do end do they, lol!
ReplyDeleteLove your string blocks! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished quilt!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say you were a summer string slacker. Love see that mountain on the floor. There is no neatness in the process.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, Lori. I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteMy blocks are all put into a quilt top now, so huge sigh of relief! Thanks for your QAL. It really motivated me to push through. You may not feel like you're making much progress, but you are making a ton of those blocks AND you've already removed papers? I may never remove papers, that's how unmotivated I am to do that part.:)
ReplyDeleteIt's so satisfying to see the blocks stack up, isn't it? I notice that some of your strings are on the diagonal, some are straight grain. Will they go into the same quilt?
ReplyDeleteCute strings - it's so fun to sew strings although I admit to being a string along drop out this time!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like Elsa and Boomer have the 'ball addiction' in common! I have enjoyed watching all the string fun. I know I'm way late to the game but I just might have to start playing with some over here as well.
