Quilt Shop Hopping

Why is it when quilters get together we have a need to go to quilt shops? It's not like we need more fabric....
I made my way to a few in the Pacific NW area.
Loving Stitches Quilt Shop- Marysville

Keepsake Cottage- Bothel
Carriage Country Quilts- Des Moines

I try not to play favorites but I loved Carriage Country quilts. They had wonderful repros and lots and lots of shop samples.
My mini getaway is coming to a close but I have a few quilters to introduce.  I'm sure you will be inspired like I am inspired!
Have a lovely weekend!

  3. I love Shop Hops! The Bothel shop closed before we got there when my Quilting buddy and I trekked over for Shop Hop week. We saw 15 shops in 2 days. Way to Hop on your own schedule. The Mini's are a Favorite of mine too.

  4. One caption from your quilt shop visits caught me by surprise. I thought maybe you'd wandered from the Pacific NW way over here to Iowa. But then I found that Carriage Country Quilts is in Des Moines, Washington, not in Des Moines, Iowa (2 hrs south of me). You visited some very appealing shops.
    Enjoy the holiday weekend, Lori.

  6. I've never been to those quilt shops, but always visit their booths at the Quilters Anonymous quilt show in Munro, Wash. every March. Carriage Country Quilts is my fave also. Mama Made It is another one. I think it's in Vancouver, Wash.

  13. Carriage Country Quilts is my favorite too. Have you been to Mama's in Longview? I keep meaning to get there, but we're either in a hurry to get to and from Seattle or the time of day isn't right.

  16. Makes me want to go shop hopping! Looks like some great shops. Nothing wrong with having a favorite. I have 2--one is 1 1/2 hours south and the other is two hours north. : )

  17. You will get back home refreshed and full of new ideas for quilts. And maybe a bit of fabric for stash. Me, I ordered fabric online and it came in two days. I am a happy camper.

  19. Nothing quite like a shop hop. Of course I do not need any fabric...but that doesn't really seem to stop me. Did you have to bring some fabric home?

  20. Quilt shops are not always about the fabric (o.k., not *only* about it) , they are also about inspiration and the possibility of meeting new like minds. Plus, I love when I get to see shops I can't get to on blogs like yours!

BTW, did you know that Kathy's back to blogging?

  23. Thanks for the shop recommendations. I now know what my first stop will be the next time I leave SeaTac airport...Carriage Country Quilts. Looks right up my alley. There are so many fantastic shops in Oregon and Washington. I love to visit. Add oysters and spectacular views to great repros and you'll know why it is my happy place. :)
