Independence Day in USA!

I can't resist one more post on red-white and blue.

Here's my Geo Washington quilt. I wasn't sure how my design elements were working while I was making it, but ended up being very happy with it.

The pattern for the cat was in Primitive Quilts and Projects, although he was dressed in gold and carried a jack o lantern. The wooden apple was given to me by a friend, Susan, when I went to NYC for the Infinite Variety quilt exhibit. I got a sneak peak at her cute house. Love the patriotic "big apple".
My husband purchased this WW2 poster on ebay and found the frame at a thrift store and gave it to me for Christmas. I thought it was awesome and so thoughtful.

This belonged to my FIL. It's a record /cassette player, radio and cd player and looks so adorable and old fashioned!

You see  this going up the stairs.
If you were a guest, this is where you would stay.

If you are in the United States, have a happy and safe 4th of July!

  2. I so like all those sawtooth stars on the outer border of the George Washington quilt. Sawtooth stars was something I focused on a lot when I first began making quilts. So many variations you can do with them.
Is the patriotic quilt on the bed a Kansas Troubles design?

  15. I love seeing all of your patriotic things! I especially love the bed quilt in the guest room and the GW quilt. I have that same panel and it has been sitting around looking for the perfect quilt. I really love how you so successfully downplayed the dark brown of the panel. That is probably the biggest reason mine is still sitting there. I hope you don't mind if I "emmulate" yours. (I also have the flying Uncle Sam figure that is on your phonograph--I got mine at Fred Meyer when we lived in Alaska.)
