Yesterday we had an ice storm so I went to work for a short time then came straight home and spent the day taking down fall decor and starting my Christmas/winter decor.
I'm sure you've seen these quilts before, but I enjoy revisiting them so I hope you will too.
Here's a lighted cut-out we got from Ikea a couple of weeks ago. It is so cute!
I start by slinging the larger quilts over the banister. behind them is a pile of little quilts, wall hangings, and wool applique.
Guest bedroom. Simple decor as the red quilts get all the attention in here. The 12 days of Christmas designed by Cheri hangs above.
I was so excited to get my red and green one back on my bed. I love it! The Kansas Troubles quilt ended up going downstairs.
This "Let it Snow" quilt usually takes center stage downstairs. This year I can enjoy it when I wake up in the morning and lay my head down at night.
I cannot remember when I finished this as I didn't sign it! I think it was late 2013. I don't love it that much and plan on giving it away this year.
The top of the table is decorated now as well, mostly with candles.
My little Nisse at home on Cascadia
The little quilt was made by Dorothy R. I LOVE it!
WARNING: If a ribbon is wrapped around your candle it is best to remove it before lighting the candle!
Have you started to decorate? We don't have a tree yet, but will soon.
Lori, your quilts are breathtaking and definitely embrace the Christmas season. Thanks so much for the tour!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Thanks for the eye candy and getting me into the holiday spirit!

ReplyDeleteLoved this quilt show, early in the morning!! Your style is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful decor! I haven't even put my dishes away from the Thanksgiving feast. We will likely decorate on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteWow, so amazing! You have really inspired me to make a red and white quilt and get back to my red and green. I have decorated and pulled out the Christmas quilts but I sure don't have so many. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful collection of quilts that can be used for the holiday. I love seeing them each year. I recognize one of the red & white quilts!
ReplyDeleteQuilts make the best decorations, don't they? Yours are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You inspire me to be better prepared for decorating next Christmas by making some red and green quilts! I've only ever made one Christmas quilt, and it's still just a top. :-/
ReplyDeleteLove the Nisse in their little sweaters; they look cute on Cascadia. Remind me, did you make them?
Madre mía !!!!!

I love your christmas decoration, it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Sylvia
Love seeing all of your quilts! You've motivated me to get going and start decorating!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun lighted cut-out. I keep thinking I'll get to Ikes someday, but maybe it is best that I don't. : )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt decor for the holidays. Your home seems so inviting--even the quilt you don't love is very cute.
The candle is scary. Had a friend who lost their dwelling due to a candle left burning. Made me a convert to fake candles for decor, though I love the real thing.
Oops, meant Ikea, not Ikes. Though Ike may have a great place, too. : )
DeleteI don't care how many times I see your quilts their all gorgeous and we have to make the most of seeing them for a short while.
ReplyDeleteJust started my decorations today. I'm up and down in the loft like a fiddlers elbow !!!!!
I always love seeing your home for the holidays, so many beautiful pieces and arrangements.
ReplyDeleteThis year I am going to make a list of things I want to make that would make my house more warm looking. Right now it is more of a cluttered miss mash of things, lol.
Debbie
Your decoration is so cute and the quilts so amazing !!
ReplyDeleteWow, you can't go wrong with Red & White or Red & Green! Love everything! Yikes on the candle ribbon.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Lori! Love all the quilts and decor! Now I'm feeling the need to make red/white and red/green quilts! We're just beginning decorating, boxes all over the place at this point!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun seeing all your beautiful Christmas quilts all put about your home.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all your pretty decorations. I can't burn candles with Dh's allergies. I think I need to make more Christmas themed quilted items...
ReplyDeleteFunny. I scrolled your pictures then went back and read the writing with each. Yea I know I'm weird. I laughed because the quilt/wall hanging you don't like and want to give away was my favorite one. Different folks, different tastes! All your quilts are lovely but that one speaks to me.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get you nisse dolls? They are so cute! Did you make them yourself? I love checking out your blog.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could make them! www.fjorn.com

Many greetings from Lena in Stockholm,Sweden.
So many beautiful quilts and stitcheries! And your little quilt you don't like so much is adorable...but I bet one of your loved ones will be pleased to receive it. Tomorrow I will get out the tree and other decorations. I've gotten out the quilts but nothing else - rainy weather has kept us from going to the storage building to get everything. But in a day or two I'll be ready! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas quilts are amazing, what a beautiful collection you ve made. Can you tell me more about the Pomegranite quilt? Beautiful quilting and an unusual border, sawtooth right on the edge?
ReplyDeletelizzy
Lovely Christmas decorations. Beautiful projects! Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a bannister to hang some quilts over. They all look so gorgeous. I also wish I could sleep under some red and green quilts at Christmas but it's so darn hot I can hardly stand even one sheet.
ReplyDeleteWow! So many gorgeous quilts! Just the quilts alone give your home such a cozy Christmas feeling! I do like that Ikea lighted cutout too... merry decorating! We will be getting our tree this Sunday... looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteYou have such an amazing collection of Christmas Quilts! Your home looks so warm and cozy
ReplyDeleteCan I come and stay at your house while the Christmas quilts are out? I want to pet them all!
ReplyDeleteYou have the best collection of red and green quilts! Everything looks so festive and cozy.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Your quilts are absolutely BEAUTIFUL and they look so wonderful around your home!! Wonderful decorating!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour quilts look amazing Lori! The little Cascadia quilt fits right in. I hope to decorate this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts and decorations, but I had to laugh out loud at the quilt you don't love that much so you'll give it away.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome collection. They all look wonderful together as perfect holiday decorations.
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are so beautiful. You hardly even need a tree with all your other decorations.
ReplyDeleteAwesome . I want to decorate with Christmas Quilts too. I try to make a new one every year and I am slowly getting enough to do it with them. I see some great ideas in your gorgeous quilts.
ReplyDeleteLovely! All your beautiful red quilts and Christmasey things! Your home must be charming this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI love all your Christmas quilts and decorations.
ReplyDeleteYour Scandinavian Christmas quilt is not even 1 year old and you want to give it away; lucky person who will receive it.
Have a nice Christmas season,
Carole Y.
Carole, I like it but am not in love with my workmanship. My sister will love it no matter what:)

ReplyDeleteSo many gorgeous quilts / love seeing them : )
ReplyDeleteThere's that beautiful appliqué pomegranate quilt. After you showed it once before I found the book and ordered it. I'm going to put that one on my 2015 list. They are all just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou have some gorgeous quilts! Makes me consider actually turning off my computer, getting out of my chair and actually finishing some quilts!
