Benjmain Biggs Applique

I've got two more blocks to applique then I'm calling the center DONE!
As much as a fan that I am for red and green quilts I'm glad I changed it up and did red and blue.

I plan on doing the scallops. That is what makes this quilt so special!

Happy Wednesday!

  1. Looking at your blocks, I remember that I made one of the blocks last year when I was testing different applique methods and did it in red and blue. I liked the color combo when I saw yours and I am saving my greens for a couple other projects. I think that is the only block I made.

  6. When you said you were "calling it done" I started counting the blocks in the original to see how many there were. I can't tell if they are all visible or not in the photo, but there are a LOT of blocks! I love that you are cutting to the chase and getting to the special part. : )

  8. Blue and red; green and red. Either way, this is one fantastic quilt. And, yes, those scallops DO make the quilt, so of course you have to do them! I will eagerly await progress updates!

  15. Lori, this is beautiful! I love your color choices; it really comes alive when you see all the blocks together. I'm doing mine in the standard red and green, but will definitely remember yours for future projects.

  20. I think it is the scallops AND the buds that make it super special. But, boy, those buds sure are fiddly.
