I got the final border on this quilt Saturday night! Whoop! Whoop!

It will need a good press before I send it off to be quilted.
Here is the quilt we saw at the quilt show in NY last spring. Kathy and I traded flying geese and bricks so we could have a larger variety of fabrics. This quilt was designed by
Tara Lynn Baisdon of Sew Unique Creations and is based on a vintage quilt from Wabash County Indiana.

ReplyDeleteWow! That is beautiful. There is just something so lovely about blue and white (or red and white) quilts. I've made 2 of them so far and just love them.

ReplyDeleteGood idea for the trade to give more variety. Gives the quilt lots of interest. I did some applique blocks with one single blue and the blocks side by side have a flat and uninteresting look.

ReplyDeleteLike Karen said--that was smart to swap. It is so visually interesting to scan across the varieties of fabric. Also, I am much more smitten with blue & white/tan quilts than the ever popular red & white.

ReplyDeleteLori and I like to make a quilt project whenever we get together by exchanging fabrics, sometimes making the same quilt too. It's quite a memory jogger to pull them out and relive the events and times surrounding the making of the quilt. We've done it for several years, and the memories are as sharp as ever!
