Friday my plan was to meet up with Laurie at Quilters Anonymous quilt show in Monroe, WA.
I was also able to visit with JoAnn from Quilters Coop and Susan, who was helping. The booth was super cute and busy. I can't believe I didn't take any photos!
But here are a few of my favs
The tag on this one wasn't correct so I'm not posting it with the quilt. It was a lovely vintage quilt from the 30's.
This is sort of a string quilt. My strings aren't quite this wide.
This one was nice, from a distance. Be sure and look close at the next photo and read the tag. I think there could have been a better alternative. That's just my opinion.
I'm not sure what happened to the tag on this. What an amazing quilt!
It was a terrific show with a lot of inspiration!!
The doll size quilt swap is on! Everyone should have received a name of who they will be mailing to.

ReplyDeleteWow, Lori, what a brilliant group of quilts you selected to show us from the Monroe show. Of course my favorites are the traditional and antique-inspired ones, most of which are simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteI like what the lady did with those scrappy four-pointed blocks, and it gives me an idea for some vintage blocks of my own. What would you have done differently? My only criticism would be the quilting.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I missed the show! I hurt my back and ended up not doing anything for the entire weekend, ugh! I did make up for it today by visiting my quilt shop that is closing next week (Keepsake Cottage in Bothell, WA... for condos. boo!). I recognize the hexie quilt from last year. I had to go back through my photos for the info. The maker (I didn't get the sign) finished it in 5 years and they are 1/2" hexies! I love it.

ReplyDeleteAlways a treat to “visit” far away quilt shows...thank you for sharing. I locked onto the City Sniffers - a favorite...my own quilt top awaits machine quilting. Your quilt show looks like it had a wonderful variety of exhibits - modern to vintage...a good mix.

I love looking at the quilting on the quilts as well as the fun colors and designs. I kind of like the raw edge blocks, it's so unexpected and different. Hmm, I might have to try something like that. What a treat to enjoy with my coffee this morning!
ReplyDeleteIf we had gotten rid of our snow earlier in the month I might have been able to drive up to see that fantastic show myself. Thank you for sharing. If you are interested, Lori, the quilt shop in Chehalis, WA, Sister's Quilt Shop, also carries a goodly amount of 1800's reproduction fabrics as well!
