It has been awhile since I went to the Early Bird Pajama sale at the Stitchin' Post! It used to open at 6AM, last Saturday it was 8Am. (oh so much better!)
Because I had just been to Houston and many quilt shops there wasn't anything I needed.
I asked Carrie if she wanted to meet we could get caught up over coffee after we shopped.
Because I use matching thread when I'm machine appliqueing this looks like it would be terrific.
I think it is 50weight, but I'm not sure.
I've never heard of Ruby Star Society,

On another note, I am up early this morning for my second appointment with an audiologist.
I've noticed in the last few months my hearing has gotten really bad. I've been through a series of testing and at this point there are no answers. Possibly a virus? Covid? Unknown. So today I'm having a hearing aid consultation. I'm not excited but I'm not a fan of not hearing well either,

ReplyDeleteWhen we went through Sisters last May going to and from our daughter's place, we did stop and have a picnic in the park, but I actually didn't push for a visit to Stitchen' Post that time around. I must have been really tired or something.

One day I'll make it to the Stitchin' Post. Loved the quilt with the bird on the top of the tree (?).
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, You have taken the best first step by working with an audiologist. Antibiotics can cause hearing loss too, temporary as well as permanent. I have bilateral cochlear implants so no recent hearing aid experience. It is important that you have a good relationship with your audiologist and that your audiologist loves what s/he does! I have had many over the years and have learned the hard way. If you have the option of more than one program in a hearing aid, be sure to maximize that option. You will want different programs for different listening situations. Wear them all the time. It will sound loud and weird at first but often it will sound better as your brain adjusts to the new sounds. It will sound more normal as you become accustomed to the new sounds. People often wrongly compare getting hearing aides to glasses. Unfortunately this is not fair. Glasses usually correct your vision to 20/20. You will not be able to put hearing aides on and hear “normal” again. You will hear better and it will sound more normal as you become accustomed to the sounds. You want to feel comfortable working with the audiologist over several appointments to adjust the programs in the hearing aides until you get the best sound for you. I hope this helps.
