The last time hubby asked me to repair his winter “blanket” it was easier for me to cut it down and rebind. I figured eventually I’d trim it so much it would end up be a small square! Haha
He’s been asking me again to repair some shredded areas.

I can't keep cutting it so I patched it!

That's the extent of my quilting this week!

ReplyDeleteno doubt there are perks keeping hubby happy....lol
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that he loves it so much!
ReplyDeleteI have five guys in my family and their favorite quilts are not the pretty ones, but the softest ones. It looks like your hubby got a good one. I am sure that he doesn't care if it has patches on it. Sometimes, that is all you can do. You did a good job. The colors blended well. Those are true heirlooms! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear what some quilt conservator says about this quilt a hundred years from now!
ReplyDeleteIt was well loved.... ;)
DeleteThere’s nothing quite like a patch on a patch!
ReplyDeleteHAHA, Right??!
DeleteThe patching job looks so good. My daughter turned 45 this month she has slept with her baby quilt sense she was a baby, had part of it 10 years ago to put on her sons baby blanket his grand mother made for him, it very fragile, you could see through the material. I purchased some material like the original sandwich her blanket in two layers of batting, now she will have it another 45 years.
