Motley Monday

I got a little of this and that today. 

Here's a sneak peak of the anniversary quilt! It's going to take me a bit to get the binding applied. Sharon Tucker did a great job! Thank you Sharon! If you are looking for a quilter on the west coast Sharon is in WA and I highly recommend her. She is great at communicating before she gets started on your quilt. Anybody notice a problem with this binding?  Ugh! I did several seams this way!!

We have over 50 swappers! (there is room for more!)  I'm close to finishing my hand quilting on my swap quilt so decided to cut my binding and made a label since I was doing it for my anniversary quilt.

My daughter brought her corgi pup with her to visit. He is about 1 year old. He and Elsa had a great time together. Here they are relaxing in the shade after doing crazy laps around the yard.

Not Your Typical Monday Quilt Post

Working on some binding this weekend and got a pucker where I joined the 2 ends. I thought I could get away with it, in the end the seam ripper won and I'm much happier with it. 

I've been getting out everyday to a local trail system that is usually very quiet- I rarely pass anyone and if I do, they won't be giving me the virus!

I think they are calling this the boneyard.

You can see Elsa up ahead of me on the trail. She loves it!

Now for some funnies I've seen lately

I'm glad my favorite actor is recovering just fine.

Retreating 2...

 We had a beautiful day and I needed a photo setting. Here's my Lincoln Museum Quilt by Barbara Brackman.

 Blind Man's Fancy reproduced from an old quilt from New York.

 They weren't interested in me as I was out taking a walk. They are annoying when they eat your flowers, but they are so cute!!

 Playoff games were on, so we had to show support. (I know Seahawks were out, but they are still "my" team)

 Geese crossing. Looks how lovely this day was!

  Christy got a lot accomplished. 

She was also working on Bonnie Hunter's mystery. 

Michelle had a lot going on! 

 Trying to decide on borders. 

Wine usually helps the decision making process. Especially if it has a hiker and mountain on the bottle!! LOL 

Taking a look from above to see if it cohesive. We declared it was! 

We admired her harvest moon. 

Looks like I was piecing my background for Together Again 2020 Quiltalong.

I got binding and labels made for quilts I've sent off to be quilted.

Marvelous Monday

I don't generally like Monday's but today will be marvelous! It's such a mindset isn't it? I survived babysitting! LOL I only gave the 2yo a little curdled milk! Everyone survived!! 

 I opted to go hiking on Sunday , but I still managed to get a few blocks sewn. I have a lot of these cut, ready to sew but here is a few more I'll add to the stack.

And binding! That means 2 quilts are close to being finished. I have labels made for them as well.

February

Wow! Here it is February already!! I have so many fun events planned for 2016 that it's hard to not rush!

We have hired a new employee and that is a good thing. I hope he learns fast and works well into our small business. 

 Here's a little stuffed pillow I made for a lovely girl who lost her dad after a valiant fight with a heart transplant. It was a free project at Wooden Spools Design- click HERE to see Debbie's blog post and get the pattern.

 I got some ideas from my Facebook group. (which now has 700+ members! I'm humbled for sure!)

 I'm not a fan of poly stuffing. This is what I used. 

 I'm working on lots of binding which makes for a boring blog post. Here is my completed High Desert Baskets, where my creative photo skills flopped!

 That's better. The binding is not the same print. Remember when I made the binding ahead of time? My quilts were at the quilters and I didn't look to see what the outer triangle prints were. Just one more step in my humble quilt philosophy. 

 One more binding. I love this binding with this quilt!! I'll show you the completed quilt later this week.

One more binding attached, still to be hand sewn.

New Year Sewing

It was nice to stay indoors a bit on New Years Day with no work and no schedule, to get some prep work done in my sewing room.  The first of the year is my time to get some quilts completed and look ahead to this years quilting and sewing projects.

In preparation for my Stars in a Time Warp quilt I needed 2 more blocks. Corrine from Cocopatch blog sent me some lovely purple fabric (bottom star) that I wanted to include in my stars quilt and  I decided to use some of my French fabric in it as well. Here are those blocks. I hope to start cutting/sewing on it this weekend. 

In preparation for quilts I've sent out I got labels made...

and binding. 

Not super exciting, but at least I'll be ready!

The sewing machine man called and my machine will be in for about 2 more weeks because of some part that was missing. It wasn't even a part that was causing the problem. Aargh!

Weekday Sewing

Here's the top (pre-outer borders) that I'm making. 

To make this quilt top quicker I've taken over our downstairs. That way I can keep an eye on the dog or dinner and still sew!

In between the lodgy Country Comforts I sewed these bindings together.

And then got them on! 

Trying to stay focused and get the commissioned quilt top finished by the weekend!

Another Wednesday Wonderings

I've been trying to get some basted quilts quilted, so that means no sewing since I don't want to keep changing the setup. But I'm feeling a tad scatterbrained. 

 Here's the quilt I showed with the stencil on it yesterday. I just did some simple primitive quilting.

 You saw these the other day, now they are in my sewing room with pieces cut for binding.

 I'm thinking of using this beautiful fabric for my Revolutionary Flags backing. I LOVE it!

I am working on hand quilting, but in-between I want to get this stitched down. It's another one by Rebekah Smith.
