Inspired by Cheryl

When I visited the Lebanon Quilt guild in 2024 I stayed with the guild president. When she heard I was coming for the show she graciously invited Christy and I to stay with her. That was so generous and how much better to come "home" to a house and not a hotel.

Cheryl is a prolific quilter and it was great to have a bit of show and tell!

If I remember right this was some type of block challenge for the guild.
How stinkin' adorable is this block?!

Cheryl shared her vision and purchases from the show! It is going to be fantastic!

Was a great time!

I'll be sharing more from the quilt show in upcoming posts!

Inspiration Friday

If you are in the Humble Quilts Facebook group (here) you likely have seen many of these.
I hope you are inspired!

In Spain I saw so many beautiful tiles. And since we were on the coast blue and white were predominant!

A patchwork of tile patterns!

A quilt shop! I was unable to stop as I had already hiked up a big hill and there was no easy way to get back to it.

My main reason for going to Spain was to hike the Cami De Ronda. See more historical info HERE
(Not to be confused with the much busier Camino de Santiago)

I hiked 43km along the east coast of Spain along the Mediterranean Sea. I hired a company that works out the logistics. Daniel was amazing. This is a hidden jewel for sure!

This was the last town I stayed in before going to Barcelona.

Adorable fishing village with colored doors!

Half Square Triangles!

Lots of steps.

Big views!

Thank goodness this hotel had an elevator! haha

We had our first snow in the mountains here in Oregon and our first hard frost in Central Oregon last night. Our heater is on this morning! I'm looking forward to winter sewing!!

Have a terrific weekend.

Blessed Beyond Measure

We made it home from Peru yesterday and I am feeling so blessed! The Peruvians we had contact with were extremally hard working, polite and joyful! We, the USA,  can learn lessons from them!

I'll try not to overwhelm the blog with too many Peru posts. If you are on facebook you can look me up and check out many photos on my personal page, (they are public so even if we aren't facebook friends you can see them)

We had heard about these ladies that wear traditional clothing and walk all around town. We paid them to have our photo taken!

Photo taken from an upstairs coffee shop window seat.  The coffee in Peru is SO good!
The rainbow flag is the Cusco flag!

Blue doors everywhere!
I do believe it is a color to bring good luck.

I feel a Prussian blue quilt in my future!

The huge condor was a sacred bird to the Incas. They admired the enormous wingspan and how well it was able to fly long distances like from Lima to the Andes. They believed it was the messenger of the skies or heavens.

Glad to be home. Thanks for all of you that commented on my facebook posts! It was such a special time for my daughter and I.
