Possible Autumn Quiltalong

Happy Friday friends!

I posted this quilt on Facebook to welcome new members and it was suggested to do this as a possible fall quiltalong. I usually do some kind of mystery but am open to doing this if there is enough interest. 

This is one I made eons ago and I would make another one. 

It was shared that this is the pattern. I could have sworn it was also in a book, but I cannot find that. I think these are readily available and maybe even in your stash!

My son's Danish host brother is here visiting and we took him out for big views!

Three Sisters, Faith, Hope and Charity. The plan is for the guys to summit South Sisters next week. (The 3rd peak from the left- nothing technical but still a challenge)

We had a great time! Mosquitos loved us too!

Zoom Meeting and Cascade Crossing Little Quilt

I got the little Cascade Crossing quilted and bound! I think it is as sweet as ever!

 

The binding is a perfect print with red and brown!

Little Quilts

Here's a Prim quilt I put the finishing touches on this week. It was one block of a quilt called Remembering Cheri after Cheri passed away from cancer. It is growing on me the more I see it! LOL

Here's the solid little quilt with the yellow binding. I LOVE it!

It is backed by a piece of feedsack. This makes me pine for spring!

I machine quilted both of them.

I hope ya'll are doing great! I feel like I'm surrounded by Covid but so far, so good!

Weekend Stitching

This is just one little thing I was able to work on this weekend. I'm finding small unfinished projects that I'm finishing and moving to Etsy!

The yellow on top is for the binding. The brown on the right  is the binding for my little December project I shared. 

Below are a few photos from a variety of winter outings. Our weather has been pretty mild. We need rain or snow and I will say the mountains are getting a bit, which is good. 

 

This is the start of my 60th year! I don't actually turn 60 until May, but the celebration starts in January!

We had a couple days of a crazy inversion and this is pretty much how it looked all day for 2 days. 

Cory and I made it to the top of Bessie Butte and were met with this lovely view of the Cascade mountains.

Welcome 2022!

Happy New Year!

It was great to take a couple of week break from blogging to close out the year. 

Here's a new little quilt I made!

I call it Tea for Two

I used a cute pinwheel shirting on the back.

Here's the precious vintage doll quilt I used for inspiration!

I have a kit made up for the "Tea for Two" little quilt. I also am offering a PDF pattern. If you'd prefer I mailed a pattern let me know.

I can make up kits for any little quilts! Please ask if you are interested. 

As many of you know we bought property in Wyoming, so I'm also offering several of my little quilts for sale. (I will eventually be selling a few larger quilts as well)  I hope you'll spread the word or purchase a little quilt for yourself!

(To answer her question I told her I wasn't sure how my wrist would hold up, but I'm going to try and hand quilt it with the splint on to see how it goes. I'll let ya'll know!)

Thank you all for your positive and fun comments! After seeing the quilt online I noticed I had a "mistake!" Most of the time I keep them in, but because this was not even layered I did a quick fix last night!

I used a bit of my recent monthly samplers for this little quilt. 

For those of you that have asked my daughter is back at work, still building strength back up after contracting Covid. Thankfully neither her or her boyfriend had to go to the ER or get admitted. 

The sale of the business has been a bit chaotic, and we are trying to support our niece in any way we can. I thought after the first week it wouldn't be so crazy, but we are now at the end of the second week the bugs are working out SLOWLY. 

We had our final Christmas employee party

Our Danish host brother Kristian has been in USA for a visit and he helped us decorate the tree, using our Danish flags and ornaments of course!

When we went out to get our tree we saw this flock of turkeys. It was so cool! This was only about half of them!!

I plan on taking a blog break. I'm working on a couple of ideas for Humble Quilts to explore after the new year. Have a wonderful Christmas, enjoying family and friends.

Wee Little Quilt

This little quilt used to be a much  bigger quilt, but as quilts do, they wear out and get loved to pieces. So it was made into this little dolly quilt. 

Each patch measures a little less than an inch. It's likely that it was to finish at 1" but has shrunk over time. Love the bits of cheddar. 

And that black!!

 

Our weather has been cold, but look how pretty this day was! I hope you saw my video on Instagram. You could see so many mountains that I'm surrounded by. 

As I prepare to host Thanksgiving dinner and company at my house, I realize how much I have to be thankful for, including all of you!

Little Humble Quilts All Through the House

It was 90 degrees on Sunday when I was preparing to put up some fall quilts. 

So, I stuck with the little ones for now!

Thee is nothign specifically autumn about these, but they remind me of fall colors, so they get to take a turn at decorating the house.

Off the Beaton Path was made originally for a swap, but I worked on it while my dad was sick and I titled it as a reminder of the fun camping trips we took- Off the Beaton Path, so ended up keeping this and making another.  I very rarely every remember staying in campgrounds.

Harmony was a quiltalong that you can find the pattern for using the search box on my blog. Love the madder prints.

Here's a little pocket with wool applique designed by Rebekah Smith.

The little quilt on the right was a gift from  Lizzy I love everything about it!

This is the cute backing of the little one on the left. 

The center block was an antique and I made this little quilt with that block.

 

Midnight Stars was a quiltalong.

And so was Country Roads.

I'll get out the larger quilts later this month. It looks like summer temps will be around for several weeks.

I treasure every little quilt someone makes me. The swap is a fun way to get to know each other better and spread some positivity in our world.

Welcome Spring!

I made a few quilt changes around my home to reflect the change of seasons. Down with "Let it Snow"!!

These 2 daffodils popped out over the weekend! Great timing!!

I was out on a short local hike yesterday and heard the sweet melody of the western meadowlark.  (which happens to be Oregon's state bird) Always means spring is here! 

I hope you can hear him! He is at the top of the tree

And then we did this thing.....

We wanted to camp, but we didn't want it snowing too much, which it did. Making memories with friends- I love that!

On International quilting Day I put these little freebie quilt pattern on the facebook group. For those not on facebook I didn't want to leave you out.

The blocks will finish at 3" the quilt 12x18.
