Maine Mills

This cool old mill was in Brunswick, Maine. Inside was a huge antique mall!

I did see this yo-yo quilt.

Is this the side you show? I've never made one and never really thought about it.

I love the fabric (including that army green blanket color!) in this log cabin.

This was 3D with velvet clothing and lace! It was different, in a charming sort of way!

I love textiles and wish I would have purchased this patriotic little outfit.

We are on a bridge over the Androscoggin River. I think I mentioned before we didn't get off the beaten path much because of the snow.
Our view from the bridge.

I love seeing these old mills revitalized!

I'm in Idaho mid week and I thought you'd like to see a little more of Maine.  It is such a pretty state with so much history.

I hope your week is going great!

Busy Thimble

My hubby and I thought it would be a great time to visit Maine in March. (we like off season traveling)
Cyndi, at Busy Thimble, and I chatted before my trip and we set an appointment to meet at the shop!
We arrived a tad early and it was the only time it snowed while we were in Maine. (it added to the ambiance- haha) There had been a big storm a few days before we arrived which hindered any hiking or wandering around.

I opted to "wander" through her amazing shop! I made several loops! lol Isn't it just as charming and cozy as ever?!

So many darling samples.
This caught my eye! Isn't that cute and now it is vintage! lol

I told her I'd run out and grab my bag. I'm not sure she was expecting luggage, but it worked! hahaha

In exchange for fabric shopping he got lobster! It was wonderful!
This was at Lobster Cove near York, Maine.
We stayed in this historic hotel in York our first night in Maine.

Last call for the small quilt swap. Rules HERE

Let's have an amazing week!

Parsonsfield, Maine

Don't you just love the name Parsonsfield? I have a friend who lives in a 200 year old house in Parsonsfield, Maine so we went for a visit. It really was the highlight of our trip.

Paula is a talented quilter who has taught and quilted many many years.
Some of the quilts I'll show here are made by her, some are antique and some antique blocks she has completed. She shared her antique block challenge with me, but I'll save that for our challenge reveal.

Cute idea for an antique block challenge.

Paula has me looking at border prints in a whole new way.

Incredible applique!

Here's a few photos of their property.

Back of the barn

I'll be back tonight from my first in person guild presentation! Whoop! Whoop!
