Multifarious Wednesday

I'm still all over the board trying to get my sewing room back in order!

Multifarious:
many and of various types.
"multifarious activities"

Yep great description.

Short video of the craziness in my sewing room!

Wrong season, but I bought this from Michelle! I need to finish it, but it is so cute and well done!

My new friend, Marsha, bought a pack of fabrics but didn't like this beauty! I was the lucky recipient. Thank you Marsha!

I've been making a little quilt in the Cheri Payne group. I finally finished it and gave it a little coffee bath.

Robin is expecting it, but I'm not ready to show it until it arrives at her home.

I know many of you have read my posts about my friend from Guatemala who works with kids in the garbage dumps. Getting them an education is key to a better life. She was in Central Oregon and I was thrilled to see her and give her big hugs!

My niece is going to Netherlands for work! Yes, it may be a possibility to visit her. We will wait and see how her schedule and life is. I've never been so it may be fun!

That's my life for now, friends!
Love ya and Welcome February!

4 Patches

Who doesn't love a simple 4 patch? And a double 4 patch is double the fun!
I'm swapping with my friends Kat and Kevin next month when I go to Ohio. (I won't be seeing Kevin in Ohio, but he is still swapping with us)  I better get busy if I want to get all 200 of them made before then! These will finish at 4" and this will not be the setting .

I generally don't piece lots of blocks at one time except in these circumstances.

Oops....

This is what goes on at home most evenings. There is a bed behind Porter but he likes the coolness of the floor sometimes.
I'm hoping to try out my new 1 person tent soon!!

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend.

I loved hearing and seeing your first quilts! So much fun!!

A Peek into Linda's Sewing Room

Here is more fun and inspiration from blog reader, Linda. She obviously loves horses!
I adore the posters behind the ironing station.

Isn't that fun?! I love where she protects (and hides) her stash!  Thanks Linda for sharing your room with us!

Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Hopefully you think the quilting is Good (at least fun to see), the Bad, well, I've had enough of that lately, although I don't like to think of it as bad, only life with bumps that makes you a stronger person, makes your faith firm and really lets you know who is there for you in the hard times.
Here are the larger blocks from last Friday's market day sew along with Pam Buda.

Ready for the Ugly?
My sewing room! It is in complete and utter disarray! This is what happens when I start digging through my scraps.

I hope I can get it cleaned up this weekend.
Today I am volunteering at Sisters to hang quilts in sponsor's businesses. It's a fun way to start gearing up for the quilt show.
Early tomorrow morning I am taking my mom and nephew to a dog show to see my cousin. It's become a once a year tradition. Then after dinner that night we are having her over to celebrate her 79th birthday.
Sunday, we clear out the last few boxes of her storage unit.
I also decided I am not bringing the  Christmas wool project to Boston over the 4th of July. There is a little project I'd like to do over the weekend, then I can quilt it while away.
And I started training again, so a run is on the schedule as well!
Whew! Tired already.
Have a fantastic weekend my dear quilt friends.

All Over the Place

I've managed to organize my sewing room and the other 3 rooms upstairs that we had re-carpeted as well. We had a big family barbecue on Monday so it was nice to have everything back together. I decided not to paint my sewing room at this time. I know it would have been the best time, but I just did not have the energy. I'm training to run a marathon and it really is exhausting me. (Just about 1 month to go!)
Needles, Needles Needles. Geez, sort of like my fabric stash.... more than I will ever actually use in a lifetime. Do you have a large and varied needle stash?
I've gone through my magazines, do not subscribe to ANY, and I still have this huge pile! I just cannot weed them out any more. I am considering going back through my AP&Q from the beginning. I'm sure it would be like a new subscription. :0
This  was when I was in the process of moving back in.
I cleaned a lot from my closet. So much of what I was storing was not quilt related so I relegated that to another room.
Sewing machine back in it's place and look! There are even a couple of projects on the table.

This is something I found in my sewing room- small remnants of Moda toweling that I've been picking up at Fabric Depot. I only use cloth napkins and these remnants are perfect for that. They already have a seam on one side.

I just trim and fold under twice and toss them in the kitchen to use instead of paper napkins. The red striped one was large enough to make into a dish towel. It is nice to get a few "to-do's" done.

I've been making progress getting my wool Flowers pattern ironed onto my wool. I'm going on a road trip in a couple of weeks and would like to have them ready to take along.

Thanks for reading and commenting, especially lately that my posting has been so irregular.

One More Disaster

The disaster in MO is horrible! The weather has been a force to reckon with this past season!!
Not to make light of the devastating tornado, but I also think one touched down in my town, and to be more specific in my sewing room! I took photos as I made my way around the room.

My blind man's Fancy blocks laid out on the floor. I wanted to keep them where I could move them around if necessary. It seems that I only keep walking on them...
The pile of fabric from Scandinavian Christmas blocks.
The next block of Beyond the Cherry Tree.
Three of hubby's shirts I told him I'd fix.... (This is first on my list this afternoon)
Quilts for Kids that I need to get busy on.
Flying geese in various stages for Blind Mans Fancy blocks.
Fabric for Beyond the Cherry Trees...
Fabric piles for flying geese combinations....
Beyond the Cherry Trees prep...
Flying geese....
Quilts for Kids strips....

Is it any wonder I'm having a hard time getting anything done? I want to do it all! LOL
Hopefully I will have something to show soon and not just bits and pieces.

We are hosting my niece's graduation party here  so we've been trying to spruce things up a little outside. I've been busier than usual so my blogging has taken a back seat. I expect it will be that way for a few more weeks.

Donna K from Quilting Bear Gal is the winner of the books. That will be a start to cleaning up my sewing room!!

This, That and the Other....

One more house block completed. (Pattern not available at this time)

I remade the block but it looks just as small as the first one so I'm not going to machine applique it down. Any ideas of additions I can make to the first one to make it take up a bit more space on the background? I may make one more and just use the enlarger on the copier....argh!! Not sure yet.

I made these little pincushions as a thank you to my Weight Watcher receptionists. (both are quilters) My meetings wouldn't have run without them. One of them said she'd think of me every time she poked a pin in it!! I'm not so sure if that's a good thing or not!!! LOL

I won this adorable scissor fob from Kaaren at The Painted Quilt. Just yesterday I was telling my rock hound cousin that turquoise or turquoise colors are my favorite. (as far as rocks go) Thank you Kaaren!!

My sewing room is packed up!! It seemed so strange to see it like this I had to snap a photo. It won't be that clean until next years sewing getaway!!!
Happy Belated Canada Day and Happy Independence Day!! Wave your flag proudly!!

Organized Chaos

Is it any wonder I am having a hard time staying focused? Yikes!!! I hope to have a baby quilt to show for it very soon. And a clean room!

I've got little piles of ideas and unfinished projects.
