Market Day

This quilt was a freebie on Pam Buda's site some time ago. I made 2 of them, one little and this one,  small.

I kept the quilting simple.
I put the final stitches in the binding Monday night and gave it to my friend on Tuesday.

Thanks for all your kind words about the basket quilt. It is such a goofy fun quilt, but you all seemed to like it so much. I'm enjoying it hanging in my house.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Market Day Sew Along

I am overwhelmed at the response for my little giveaway. I LOVE reading about everyone's 4th of July. I was very touched by many of your comments. For those who have served our country, or who are serving, thank you so much for your service and sacrifice! (If you haven't left a comment, it's on the last post)

Look! More patriotic!! First thing I did on the retreat is sew together my
Market Day quilts by Pam Buda. I see where I could have done things a bit differently, but I like it anyway.

Kick Off Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show

First, here is my finished pin cushion designed by Primitive Gatherings. Mine is a bit more prim than the pattern, but that's the way it works out sometimes. I've stuffed it with walnut litter (from pet store) and cotton stuffing. I like the weight that that combination gives me.
Here's the first volunteers (me included!) to kick off the festivities for the Sisters Show. I get so much enjoyment from the show every year that volunteering is a small way to pay them back. This year we got shirts!
Here is the wonderful warehouse space that will be filling up soon with quilts from all over. We hung sponsor quilts which you can see in the black bags on the floor.
Quilt intake. This was also the first day to bring in quilts and the quilts that had been mailed were processed as well. Let the fun begin!

The Stitchin' Post was filled to the brim with products for quilt show week. The morning I stopped in was quiet and a perfect time to take a few photos. Enjoy!

The classroom space in the shop is transformed to accommodate all the products they will need for every class they put on the week of the Sisters show. Sue Spargo is coming and look at that great wool/ trims/books and threads in this one area.

More of the transformed classroom space.

And here are my Friday's Market day sew along.

Happy week!

Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Hopefully you think the quilting is Good (at least fun to see), the Bad, well, I've had enough of that lately, although I don't like to think of it as bad, only life with bumps that makes you a stronger person, makes your faith firm and really lets you know who is there for you in the hard times.
Here are the larger blocks from last Friday's market day sew along with Pam Buda.

Ready for the Ugly?
My sewing room! It is in complete and utter disarray! This is what happens when I start digging through my scraps.

I hope I can get it cleaned up this weekend.
Today I am volunteering at Sisters to hang quilts in sponsor's businesses. It's a fun way to start gearing up for the quilt show.
Early tomorrow morning I am taking my mom and nephew to a dog show to see my cousin. It's become a once a year tradition. Then after dinner that night we are having her over to celebrate her 79th birthday.
Sunday, we clear out the last few boxes of her storage unit.
I also decided I am not bringing the  Christmas wool project to Boston over the 4th of July. There is a little project I'd like to do over the weekend, then I can quilt it while away.
And I started training again, so a run is on the schedule as well!
Whew! Tired already.
Have a fantastic weekend my dear quilt friends.

Little of This and That

I have many little projects going on and for now I'm  good with that. In a few weeks i will be getting away for a few days of girl time and sewing and I'm going to concentrate then on one or two projects.  For now this is what I've been working on this week. (It feels like I have shown you these, so forgive me if it is repetitive!)
One more basket block from Wendy at Legend and Lace.
I thought these were complete,  but the green was not appliqued....until now.

All caught up on the Market Day sew along that Pam Buda is doing.

Was good to get back in the sewing room. Happy Wednesday!

Sunriver Sisters

Last summer a bunch of who got together to sew and have fun the week before the Sisters Outdoor Show swapped friendship star blocks. I thought I better get mine completed before this year!
I took photos in different lighting as a test. I thought I'd just post them all here.

I won! I won! Janet from Rogue Quilter was celebrating her 3 years of blogging and here's the wonderful loot! Look at that tiny quilt! It's all so fabulous! Thank you again Janet!
Life is throwing us curve balls again. My FIL ended up in the hospital and should be discharged tomorrow but they will not let him go home alone. So, we will be re-arranging our downstairs to accommodate him until an apartment opens up at the assisted living unit my mom is in. I put him on the list last week. It should keep things interesting around here that's for sure!

Make it a great Monday!

Scrappy Monday

I had a partial block left from THIS QUILT. It was one a group of us made for Jill while she was sick.
I had to make 2 corner blocks and one strip of flying geese, but think it will make a nice table topper and a reminder of my dear friend Jill Reid. (I have one of her other published quilts on tap to make later this year)

And I'm all caught up on Pam Buda's Market Day pieces.

Adventures await me this week. Have a wonderful day!!

Baskets and More

Here's the next basket block from Wendy at Legends and Lace. The blocks are free and so much fun!

Some are easier than others, but what quilter doesn't like to be challenged?
Here's my next installment of Market day by Pam at Heartspun Quilts.

Look what I won from Diane at Butterfly Threads. These are HER patterns! Isn't that awesome? I love to see what fellow bloggers are designing and marketing. Thank you so much Diane!!

One more thing....Today I am mailing off a quilt and directions for Primitive Quilts and Projects! And I got EQ7 for my birthday so hopefully I can design/write/print quilt patterns even more efficiently.

Love to you all. Have a wonderful,  fantastic day!

Spoookkkyy Tree in May

Here's a little Halloween wallhanging I've been working on as I drove back and forth to see my dad. I got the binding on it and it's ready for fall! It is designed by Cheri.

I started a little quiltalong called Market Day by Pam Buda. She is giving us the info once a week in two sizes. You can do one, or the other, or both!  This is week one and two. It would be simple to catch up.

If you haven't taken a peek at the 53 little doll quilts that are posted please go see right now. HERE

And if you are on instagram and would like to follow me I put a badge on the right hand side. I try and put different things on my blogs than I put on instagram. Quilting is minimal, it's mostly my life beyond the sewing room.

Have a fantastic day!
