Vintage Fabric- Generous Quilters

Good morning!

While in Hemet, CA  a generous quilter, Elaine, asked if I'd like these vintage fabrics that she has from her mother.

Aren't these special?!

Quilters a so generous! Thank you Elaine!

Amazing Vintage Fabric

While in Missouri I was able to purchase this amazing vintage fabric!

I've never heard of Richloom (Made in Canada) but somewhere in my head it looked familiar. (Copyright MMII is 2002)

I went back through my photos and found this one I took in France at a special exhibit of Beauville antique prints. Really spectacular!

This print was as sweet as ever!

I was surprised to see it was by Robyn Pandolph.

And this elegant pilar print. I put it on my facebook group and Diane Bryant  helped me identify it as Birds in Paradise by Free Spirit.

For those of you who may be wondering what I'm going to do with these, I've already sold them! I have no idea what I'd do with them. But I wanted to share them here so we can all see these amazing prints!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Billie's Guild Box

I stayed in a lovely home with a wonderful host named Billie. She shared a box of vintage and antique blocks, bits and pieces that were donated to the guild. A knowledgeable woman took the box, documented all the blocks and presented a trunk show to the guild. They are going to donate the box of goods back to the woman so can use them for future teaching opportunities.
Here is peak into the cool textiles!

YES to red and cheddar!

Uhhh a little humble.

Love that black print!

Not even a close substitution on this one! lol

This looks like a hankie was used in this block.

The entire box was a treasure!

Billie designed this quilt....

After making this one! (designed by Krista Moser)

Lovely! Thank you Billie for your hospitality!

More This and That on a Monday!

\
Thank you Diane Bryant for the dresses for my mission trip later this year!

My lighting was a little off- sorry. I love seeing the little girls faces light up when they see I am giving them a pretty new dress!

Thank you friends who shared your neons for my stars!! Aren't they cool?? I love them!
And vintage indigoes!! Oh my! Thank you!! Thank you!

I took out this box of vintage indigo half square triangles and will be using them with the vintage scraps!!

My daughter came to visit! It has been awhile and the weather was so nice.
Because trekking in Peru is coming up we went for a hike while she was here.

This was at the top of the hill!

Let's make it a fantastic week!

Friday Friendships

Here are some amazing signature blocks that Suzette shared with me. Oh those fabrics!!

The cross stitch was so tiny I have no idea how it was accomplished!!

 Oh these crazy wonderful prints!!
And speaking of friendships, if you will be in Houston at the quilt show, a  few of us are meeting at 11:30 at the food court on Friday November 1st. . If you are the first one there- save a table! I know Janet O from Canada, Cecile from France, Connie, Kevin and me will be there. (maybe Patty H)  Bring a lunch or purchase a lunch, or just come and say HI!!
Speaking of lovely fabric. That cheddar with dots is awesome and in great shape!
I shared this without the borders on the Facebook group. This is a horribly dark photo, but I went with my gut and what felt right. I wanted to get it basted so I could hand quilt it this weekend while on a road trip. Better photos, better lighting later.
If you've been around very long, you know we have had a problem with a neighbor dog... he was back!!  He is out of control. Thankfully I had just put our dogs in their kennel, but I worry about the next time. Elsa is a runt, and Porter is old. Our county sheriff's office is worthless. Maybe bear spray next time since pepper spray doesn't affect him when he is crazy.

On another note, one of our delivery vehicles was stolen this week!!  It is ridiculous! It even has big CARQUEST logos on the side! 4 days later and it hasn't been seen.

Well, it has been a good week, regardless. I try and take it in stride. Life is good and I've made some positive changes that cut drama from my life. That is always a good thing!!

I've seen many stellar Almost Amish and I can't wait to see more!!

Have an amazing weekend, dear friends!!

Vintage Crazy Quilt

Here is another of the vintage quilts I had given to me. I think this quilt may be from about 1880-1900.
 It has issues.
Instead of trying to cover them all up with tulle. I'm going to trim out the shattered pieces so it doesn't continue to make a mess. I'll still be able to enjoy it.

Here's the backing. I facetimed with my friend, Laurie, and she feels like this quilt back may have come from another quilt.
Here are these cute little ribbon ties equally spaced that do not go through to the front. I'm going to remove a few stitches from the binding and take a peek and see if anything else is under it.
I'd welcome your thoughts.

Here's my Instagram feed for the week.

I've been sewing with Randy the past two days in Sunriver. Having a great time!  Enjoy your weekend.

Little Dresses and a Bit More.....

What a fun mail weekend!

Here are the first of the little dresses for Peru. Thank you Martha and Liz!
I got my little swap quilt from Karen Dever, but am not ready to show it on my blog. The front has been shown on my Facebook group and the backing on Instagram! I love everything about it.
She also designed these adorable patterns and sent them to me with my quilt. Thank you Karen!
Martha sent me these vintage fabrics with the pillowcase dresses. Love! Love! Love! Thank you Martha! (Please no one feel any obligation)
And I won these patterns from Carrie, Cricketwood Prims n' Gardens. I love it! Thanks Carrie!

What a weekend! The weather was amazing too- very spring like. It's about time!! Have an awesome day!
