2025 Quilt Swap - CLOSED

The past several years I've hosted a doll size quilt swap and they have been resounding successes! Time for our 12th Annual Humble Quilts Doll Quilt Swap 2025.

SIGN ups are closed!

Continue reading for all rules. When the number of participants continues to rise, please READ everything before asking me a question. Please take the time to make a quilt that you'd like to receive. Due date for your little quilt to be in the mail is May 3rd. (gives you approx 7 weeks to make a quilt)  Please do not participate if you cannot meet the deadline.

Fabric: 1775-1910 is a wide span of time but that is what we are looking for. Look HERE if you are unsure what reproduction fabric is.

We are not using 1920's-Current
Not primitive style, like Jan Patek, or cutesy like some of Primitive Gatherings or Joined at the Hip. (which I love, just not for this swap)
We want the quilt to look like it time traveled from days past.

  • Hand or machine quilting is fine. Quilted with a few ties is fine. Ties only is not.(please no yarn)
  • No pre-printed panels
  • Please attach a label and add a note with your email so the recipient knows who to thank.
  • Thank the person who sent you a quilt. Let them know the quilt arrived!
  • If the workmanship is very poor and it looks like it was done very unthoughtfully I want to know and I'd like to see photos.
  • There is no need to send extras and please do not feel pressure. Some people are on a tight budget but  we still want them to play!
  • We will have a linky party so we will be able to see all the little quilts!

  • 24" x 24" or smaller. (It doesn't have to be square), Civil War reproductions, a label, with a deadline of mailing by May 3rd.   Please no smaller then 12"x12" .

If you cannot mail international for financial reasons please let me know. You do not have to leave that info in the comments, you can email me.  In previous years I let you not mail international for any reason, but I'm changing that. It is the same people willing to send international doing it over and over.  If you just don't want to send overseas because going to the post office is a hassle, then please join another swap.

If you are interested please send me your full name, mailing address and if you  cannot send international to humblequilts@gmail.com

Even if you were in a past swap, please send me the pertinent info.
I'll take signups through - March 24th,  Midnight PST

I will send you your swap partner soon after.

If I do not know you, if you have never commented on my blog or

we've never emailed than I may not allow you to join. Don't take

     it personal.

It isn't a race (although there is a deadline) there is no reason to rush and do a crappy job.

This type of workmanship is not acceptable.  It doesn't have to be perfect

So many of my points do not match, but I do know how to attach a binding and basic quilt construction. Have fun and enjoy the process!

    Swap Quilts On The Move

This was not my planned quilt, but this is how mine turned out. I played with more fabrics and the 2 reds just seemed destined to be the main show.
I hand quilted with a cross hatch.

The backing is a lovely fabric!

Many quilts have arrived at their new home and other's are winging there way across the USA and World!

If you aren't done, don't panic. You have 17 days to get it completed and in the mail.

I hope your week has been wonderful.

    My Little Swap Quilt

My little swap quilt has arrived and been seen by Trish. My quilt went all the way to Buenos Aires, Argentina!

It is simple and a little on the primitive side!

Love that print for the backing.

This was the vintage quilt I was inspired by!

The last quilt to arrive went from Australia to Utah, back to Australia and then back to Utah! No fault of the sender! Post office error!! Aargh!

Jan Horn, as soon as you can get a photo of the quilt Susan sent you I'll post it and we can see ALL the quilts in one place!

Below are some new additions to my Etsy store.
All of these are from the line The Union Forever by Judie Rothermel and the New England Quilt Museum. Such awesome fabric!

This line is called Democracy by Sandy Gervais! An oldie for sure!

The link to my Etsy store is on the right column of my blog.

I had a lovely breakfast with my daughter yesterday. We are down to 2 weeks until we leave for Peru!

I hope you have an awesome day!

    Cheri Friendship Group Quilt Swap

Cheri Payne's love of quilts, prim and friendships,  lives on in her friendship group!
I recently took part in a quilt swap. Robin Bean was my partner and has done several Humble Quilt swaps too. We like so many of the same things.

Here is the Uncle Sam quilt she made me. We waited for each other's quilts to arrive so we could open them on the same day. She ended up calling me on messenger! That was fun! Thanks again, Robin.

    So stinkin' cute!

It is hard to see the backing but I love it too! Click to make it larger.

Here is the quilt I sent her.

There is a little wool applique on cotton,

I saw so many fancy labels on quilts people were swapping. I apologized for my "plain jane" label!

We made a trip over the mountain this week and the moss was incredible!

I'm not sure what the story is behind this. There is a carving that says Community Kitchen 1936 CCC
    It is so cool!

The neighbor dog loves to play with Elsa. He is part Pyrenees and he is huge at 10 months old!

I have been a bit under the weather- I'm hoping be completely well soon! Ugh!

    Have a great weekend!

    Amazing Swap Quilt

I have seen some lovely and amazing swap quilts. Here is mine, and I think it must be the best! lol The bird applique is from the Cousin's Walk sampler. We were at Merry's house in spring of 2019 and she opened an old package with this BOM. We squealed with delight! I ordered online likely the last pattern available and off we went. Merry and I are still working on ours. The quilt she sent me is also made with antique fabric from our friend Laurie's antique stash. It is incredible! Thank you so much Merry! XOXO

Our weekend away was great! It was quite a drive so we opted to stay for 2 nights.

Ancient Lakes (This was one of 4 little lakes near each other)

    Columbia River in the back

Dusty Lake with amazing moon and toasty fire.

    Big skies!

    Solidifying friendships!

    Let's have a great week!
