Gee's Bend Quilts

Every year the employees of the Stitchin' Post have a challenge. This year they were challenged to use their own interpretation of the Gee's Bend "style".

Below are a few quilts from Gee's Bend, Alabama.
I haven't really decided if I have an opinion about them or not. Oh, heck, I have an opinion and I'll keep it myself.;)

  1. Thanks for posting the pictures. I'm not sure I could make one in this style. It's not me and I wouldn't know where to begin! I can certainly appreciate the workmanship, though. Different cultures certainly carry over into whatever type art we do and surround ourselves with, don't they?

  5. I still enjoy seeing the quilts and I did see some Gees bend quilts here in Australia. They were mostly the newer ones from the co-op that were for sale.
