1940s Lone Star

One of the last quilts I opened from the estate was this beauty! It has been well loved.

Lovely hand quilting

I'm assuming it is from the 1940's.
The biggest problem with this quilt is the binding is pretty much non existent.  It was the color of the final blue tip. I think I'll see if I have a solid blue similar, replace it and keep this one. At least for awhile.

Have a terrific weekend!

New England Quilt Museum part 3

Here are some of my favorites that were on display. These are part of the NEQM collection.

This quilt was huge and hard to photograph.

Keep an eye on the sashing of this quilt.

Simple but effective and so charming!

Here's a sweet dolly quilt in the NEQM collection.

The quilt Laura holds (on the right) was the little quilt she made for me for the Humble Quilt swap!

And here it is up close and personal. I LOVE it and treasure it!

I hope you enjoyed the exhibits I shared from the New England Quilt Museum.

This and That

As soon as I got home from CA I had a day to repack and Cory and I were off to Montana!

Our mission was a field trip to check out a warehouse that builds prefab log cabins.

Meanwhile we had time to spare so these quilts were a few I saw at antique stores.

This one was my fav!

Love the red print and fat sashing!

Happy little spring quilt!

Don't see too many mounted bear heads in Oregon antique stores.

We went for a short walk through a wildlife refuge. The Bitterroot mountains looked amazing with the cloud formations.

We were told at the warehouse that Yellowstone is filmed right down the road in Darby, MT.
Away we went! We watched a few seasons but we aren't diehard fans, but look who I saw in Darby! lol

And here's the Dutton ranch.

I hope your week is going wonderful.

A Vintage Little Quilt

A sweet online friend, Julie, sent me this adorable little quilt top! She saw it at an antique shop and thought of me! Oh my goodness, that touches my heart! Thank you Julie!

The blocks are handpieced. Look at this wonderful print!

The setting squares are machine pieced so I believe that part came later. Love this cheddar on blue print! I want to baste it and quilt it as is!!

I took part in a Meet the Teacher event online this past Saturday. This is where guilds meet teachers to possibly hire for their guild. It was a wonderful event and although most thought travelling to Southern CA was a but too far, it was good to be involved.
This week I'm going to an in-person event! I'm looking forward to that.

I hope you are having a terrific week!

Antique Quilts and Textiles

Here are a few quilts and clothing from our stops at antique stores in Virginia.

This was one of the favorites that got away! The seller wouldn't budge on the price.

What a fun folk art style eagle!

This was at the VA quilt museum shop.

What's not to love about double pink and poison green?!

I'll be home today and have no plans to go anywhere for awhile!
Have an amazing weekend friends!
