Design Wall Monday

I made a little progress on the medallion. I wasn't sure how well I liked the last border, but once it was sewn on I think it is OK. It is still a weird size so I think I am going to add another blue spacer strip next then continue to the next round.

The two blocks to the side are a free BOM designed by Dawn at Linen Closet Quilts. At this point my two blocks do not look related at all, but if I use some of the same fabrics throughout the quilt it should start looking cohesive.

  1. I like your border that is added to the Washington medallion. Any plans for how big the finished piece will be?
I am working on the applique for the wreath block. I see you have yours done already.

  2. I think the borders look great, Lori! I'm anxious to see what you do next!

  3. I like your medallion quilt, can't wait to see more.
wish I would have bought this center fabric too,
looks like your having fun with it!
oh I thought about doing the bom too
loved the eagle block will be fun to see what else she does
will be nice to see people setting the blocks differently to make the quilts a bit of their own.

  4. I love your idea of using GW for the center of your medallion. I am working on a medallion myself, as part of a guild project. Yours is looking just great!

  5. It looks great! I haven't done anythig with mine yet but you are giving me some good ideas.

  6. I'm liking your design wall photo! I told Dawn I just couldn't take on another seeing both of your blocks together...*sigh*...what to do, what to do!

  7. I'm going to enjoy seeing the progress of the medalion, it looks great so far. I love the two BOM blocks so far, must be a sampler quilt.
