Coburg Quilt Show

A couple of weeks ago I went to another outdoor quilt show. It's nice because it is all in one park in Coburg, Oregon.

What a fun quilt with lots of patches! I loved the stars here and there.

I've always liked this quilt, but seeing it in person I realized it has a lot of dead space.

My favorite of the whole show. A simple double nine patch set with splashes of red which I thought was quite lovely.

It was the striped sashing that sold me on this one though.

If you wanted, you could even get a wagon ride through the historic town of Coburg.

PS, Did I mention there was vendors??? lol

Dress quilt

Several of you said you'd like to see the whole quilt of this one. Thank you blog readers for sending me the photo of the whole quilt and not just two little dresses.

One of my favorites from the Sisters Quilt Show.

I did mention before the quiltmaker used her mother's wedding dress and old clothes of hers when she was little to make this a personalized quilt.

Here's my little Drunkards Path quilt that I rec'd in kit form from Martha. I warmed up my machine quilting skills for my red and white quilt with this. Isn't it adorable?! Thank you Martha!

Local County Fair

 We made a trip to our local fair the day before I had to make an emergency trip to Washington. The last several years our fair has gotten smaller and smaller with attendance falling off remarkably. Someone had the brilliant idea to make it free! Wow! What a concept. A family event that doesn't cost anything!

 Of course the animals have always been my favorite. It seems like 4H isn't what it used to be either.
There weren't as many animals as I remember from the past. Even though we are in a rural community I think there are other things the kids are doing. It's a lot of work and economically the auctions may not be bringing in enough money to make it worth their while.

 

I tried to do my part and enter a few quilts as did a few of my friends.  I think mine was the only hand quilted large size quilt entered. They didn't have a mixed category, so it was entered under applique. Their entry book needs a little help.

I didn't see too many small hand quilted items either. I tried to make my contribution.
