It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas

It seems like I'm running behind a bit this year, but we finally have our tree up and when I see my Nisse I know Christmas is close!!
I've kept my decorating fairly simple this year.
Here's the Santa I made a few months ago and the J-O-Y banner that we made at Thanksgiving.

This red and white bear paw quilt top was going to be used a rag!! My friend's cousin rescued it and passed it to the person she knows loves humble quilts!! It took a good soaking, then because it didn't bleed, a good wash, then a good spray with febreeze to get out the musty smell. I had planned on ironing it, but it is way too wavy even for the iron. I think I'll leave it as a top and enjoy it for the bright color is gives during the holidays.

We went shopping last week and I couldn't resist taking a photo of these cowgirl RUBBER boots! Are they fantastic or what?!
Here's Chilly from Primitive Pieces by Lynda. It is supposed to be a door hanger, but before I gave it away it looked pretty cute hanging on my stair banister.
A little surprise on the reverse.
Is anybody up for a doll quilt quiltalong after the new year? I pulled a few fabrics for it and hope to start sewing on it soon. You notice I can hardly resist that darn cheddar!?

The bear paw top is great ! As to the doll quilt quilt-along, I don't know. I still haven't finished my second cc&c doll quilt. (Don't know why I decided to make 2 of them - hee hee) I did work on it a little yesterday morning, though. I want to get the top finished after we get home. I have the finished one hanging over the back of a black chair and it really looks great! We are in Arkansas now with the new GS!!!

I love your little elves! Everything looks very merry and festive.

That rescued quilt top is awesome! It would make a lovely table cloth with bright red dishes.

I would love to do a doll quilt sew along, keep us posted!

Love the decorations! I love that Bear Paw quilt and am so glad you rescued it! It's one of my favorite patterns and the very first one I ever did back in 1995.

I LOVE the cowgirl rubber boots. I own a couple pairs of the leather ones, but have never seen them in rubber. Way cool :)

Merry Christmas!

Yes, yes, yes -- I'm ready for another quiltalong. The two little quilts I made this year per your instructions are personal favorites. My cheddar is ready to follow you anywhere!

I am glad to see that I am not the only one that decided not to go all out on the decorations this year. Just the things I love. A new doll quilt would be fun. I have all those favorite colors...

Such fun decorations. They have a cozy feel to them. That was surely a close call for the quilt. I think it looks very Christmassy...and cozy just like the rest of your decorations. Happy Holidays! Oh, and I'm looking forward to the doll quilt sew along. Thanks.

I always love the prim and homemade look. It seems you favor red, just like I do.

The cheddar is yummy! I'll probably join in because the last one was so fun :)

I love your Santas - we have a collection of Santas and nutcrackers. I would love to join you in a doll quilt along - I am planning to make 2011 the year of the small quilt!

I love your primitive santas. They look so festive
and when I first saw "Chilly" my thought was, "what a cute holiday bag!" The doll quilt so-along sounds interesting but I'll have to see where I am on Bonnie's Christmas mystery quilt. I've never made a doll quilt before about how big are we talking?

Hip Hip Hooray! Let's hear it for 'quilt rescue'! It's the perfect addition to your holiday decor.

Your holiday decorations have such a nice homespun look. I didn't do much decorating this year either, but draped an old red and green quilt top over the table I sat the small tree on. I really like your Bear Paw, and I'm glad you rescued it and are using it.

I have a couple of crazy commissioned quilts coming up. I think a doll quilt will give me a feeling of getting something done?
:)
Great boots!

Looks like Christmas has arrived at your house! I was thinking about the doll quilt Sunday as I was trimming the tree. My Cheddar Cheese and Crackers is keeping my teddy warm by the tree. I'll post a picture on the blog soon. Looking forward to another doll quilt in the New Year!
Happy Holidays!

Your door knob hanger turned out quilt. I have the pattern laying out but don't know that I am going to find time for it any time soon.
Another sew-along. Sounds good though I will have to do it later on. I will be out of commission in January.
