My weekend started out awesome but took a turn for the worse when my mom fell yesterday and fractured her shoulder. She is at home and I expected her to be doing better then she is by now. I spent the night last night and even grabbed some stitching-didn't touch it at all. I'd appreciate prayers for her to turn the corner and for strength and wisdom for me.
I was going to post a photo of my hand project but haven't figured out how to do that with my iPhone.
snip snip.....later........
Hurrah, My brother is covering at the house for me so I could come home and take a shower and get ready to sepdn the night again. I went running yesterday morning and never did get a shower! Yikes!!
Here is the awseom project carrier I use. My dear friend Kat made it for me many years ago. Maybe tonight I'll get a chance to sew.

Will definitely keep you and your mom in my prayers. Falls and fractures are so challenging! I will certainly hope her pain can be controlled and that you will get lots of help in caring for her.
Prayers sent for your mother's recovery, and wishes sent as well for you and your family to cope with the stress and strain. Such times are eased for so many of us with the relaxation that stitching brings.
Take care of yourself too.
Praying for your mum Lori and for you. Carer's are often the forgotten ones.
Stitching can wait family come first.
Big hug .
I'll pray for your mother, Lori. That's not fun and things like this worry us kids so.
I will be praying for you both too and for your family!
I will keep both you and your mother in my prayers. Take care of yourself.
Oh Lori -- I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I know it's hard to see your Alzheimer's parent coping with an injury -- it reminded me of when my kids were sick when they were little.
It's wonderful that your brother is able to help. I don't know what I would have done without my sisters. I hope your mother is feeling better very soon. Please take care of yourself.
Sorry to hear about your mom, my prayers and wishes for a quick recovery.
Debbie
I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom! I will pray for both of you. I know to have some stitching to work on can be soothing. You have a lovely project carrier - even more special when it's been made by a good friend!
Lori, I hope your mother's recovery picks up speed and that in a day or two she's feeling much much better.
Will keep her and you in my prayers!!
lori my heart goes out to you, pray your mom heals well, at a time of great stress keeping hands busy with the repetative motion of handwork helps keep the mind from over worring, although i know that's hard not to do.....will keep your family in my prayers
Kat made you a really nice sewing kit:) It is nice to have some soothing handwork available. I'll be thinking of you, and you can count on prayers, too.
I hope your mom is in not too much of a pain and the recovery quick for hers and your sake.
Yeah take something to stitch keep those hands busy and mind 'relaxed'.
Oh Lori I'm so sorry your Mom is suffering with the shoulder injury. I'm sending lots of healing thoughts and prayers! Sending lots of strength to you.
Lori, you are such a good daughter! Your patience and time spent with your mom is so generous....I know she surely appreciates everything you do for her. And hopefully your brother can give her a little more time, so you can have more than just a shower!
Keep that stitching close.....it's your sanity!
Prayer's for your Mom's quick recovery and for your family.
Hope your mom's recovery is speedy. My thoughts are with both of you.
Lori....Our Mom took a fall a few years ago...and is now the owner of some heavy duty metal in that shoulder. The first few days are definitely not fun! I'll be thinking of your mom and all of you as you help her through it!
Lori, I hope your Mom's pain is decreasing. My thoughts are with you both and hoping she heals quickly. Please remember to take care of yourself. Hugs
Hope your mum steadily improves and she regains her confidence. Hugs to you...it is worrying when parents are unwell.
Will definitely keep your Mom, and you, in my prayers. My 81 year-old Mom fell and broke her arm just below the shoulder two weeks ago. It is a hard thing to go through for both the patient and the care givers.
Hope you can squeeze in some relaxing stitching time!
Oh dear, that's so scary when our parents start getting frail. I pray that her recovery progresses and that you are able to get the rest you need in order to give her the care she needs. The role of caregiver can be daunting and rewarding and exhausting.
Lori, terrible news. I hope your mum makes a speedy recovery. My mother in law also has dementia and had had a few falls and broken bones. All the more distressing when hey can't quite figure out what's happening. Make sure to take some time to look after yourself too!
oh Lori I am so sorry to hear this.
I hope she is feeling and doing better today.
Please take care of yourself too. I will be thinking of you both.
Kathie
Sending lots of good thoughts and prayers for your mom and for you...take care.
It sounds lijke a nasty fall indeed. I wish you and your Mom the best, I'll be saying a prayer too. Each day I hope she improves and you find some peace in stitching.
So sorry to hear about your mom's fall. Glad your brother could give you a little break. Take care and hope you find some time to stitch.
Good thoughts and prayers sent your way.
Lifting you and your momma up in prayer!!
sorry to hear Lori!
Hopefully stitching will keep you company and help with the worrying.
xo
I've been thinking of you and your Mom - hope she is feeling better. Glad you got to go shower!!!
Lori, I'm sorry to hear your mother's fall. I'll be praying for you both. You have a "tough row to hoe" ahead of you. Try to find time for yourself and stitch. It will relax you and make it easier to cope. Hugs.
Our hearts go out to you! And many prayers as well. Hope you get some time to de-stress with a little hand sewing.
Ohh, I feel for you.
Take care of yourself! Being well rested will help you sooo much!
No need to respond to comments - use it for sleep ;-)
Sorry to hear about your mom's fall. I hope she is doing better soon.
I am sorry to hear about your mum...
Would love to have a look inside the carrier though, pics like this make me sooo curious LOL.
Hope your mom is better soon. Gotta be hard for you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. It's hard for everyone concerned when our parents or grandparents become ill and require care.
Prayed for your mom and you. Hope your Mom feels better soon.
Prayed for your mom and you. Hope your Mom feels better soon.
I hope your Mum recovers well Lori, not so nice to fall at any age, but when you are older it can do a lot of damage!!! Take care!
So sorry..............well wishes going your way.
Oh bummer Lori, I hate to hear about your Mom's injury. Hopefully she will turn a corner soon and start improving. Lots of cyber hugs to you and her, and take care of yourself.
Cheri
My best wishes to you and your mum Lori for a speedy recovery.
Oh girlfriend....your family is in my thoughts and prayers!
Keeping you and your mom on my thoughts. Speedy recovery. Take care of yourself too.
