Well, one thing led to another, (Kathie lost her block in her sewing room!) and the challenge lost all rules. Maybe I work best that way! LOL
The 4 baskets in the center were attached as one block and that's what I started with.
I suppose my color palette reflects the autumn colors outdoors. I tried to bring in a few of the same colors that were in the center.
On my agenda for today? Baste, Baste, Baste!!
This quilt, my Twelve Days of Christmas, the Bible BOM, and my red and white Irish chain.

I like the "humble quilt" method of not "calculating" the border to end in just the right spot. Just whack it off where the quilt ends--so many vintage quilts are like that. I think you made a very fun little quilt.
(I bet Kathie's sewing room would be easy to get lost in--with all due respect to Kathie--the way she produces so many wonderful quilts, there must be a lot of fabric there in which to get lost!)

I think you dd a great job with these baskets. I too, will spray baste small pieces, but since I have the LA machine, I do baste larger ones on it. I have done a few small ones by hand that have been sprayed and its fine. Good for you for quilting your own pieces.

I think the borders you've put on the basket block work very well. Love the zigzags! I like the idea of spray basting but am a big chicken to try it.

Your finishing borders are unexpected, unique, fun, and whimsical. It's all wrapped up into a neatly finished little project with such an interesting combination fabrics. CUTE!

I also followed the link to the spray baste tutorial. Good info there. I usually only spray b aste small projects, but I might get brave.
Also, I spray baste little tops that I plan to hand quilt and I don't have trouble quilting them. (Well not from the spray baste any way. LOL).
Goodness, you finished 4 quilts? I must waste a lot of time, tomorrow night I get to go sew at my little quilt shop, I am so looking forward to working on a quilt! Fun quilt, you are amazing!

Great job! What a fun little quilt you've made. I love your liberated triangles and zigzag borders! I think you did a good job of pulling fabric colors out into the borders. I love this!

Those baskets are just the cutest. I like the inner borders you selected, especially that zig-zag one. And the color palette can't be beat. It's fun to see creative color combos like that.

A bright and interesting selection of fabrics in the quilt! I love it! I like to baste several quilts at once also. It feels good getting the projects ready to quilt.
