Look what came out of the dungeon!? It's my Jane Stickle quilt....it has only been a 10 or 11 year project! LOL Will winter of 2011-2012 be the finale?! I sure hope so!!
Here's the cute red and green block turned into a little pillow. I had to replace the hst red and still managed to cut off the points. I love it anyway.
Here's Henny Penny one more time with my initials appliqued in the corner. I like it a lot better without the big blank spot.
A Jane Stickle quilt is a big accomplishment no matter how long it takes! I've owned the book about as long as you have been working on it and I haven't made a single block. Your progress looks great to me!!
ReplyDeleteThats a great winter project! I love the little Cakestand block pillow you made, my favorite block, well one of my favorite blocks. I was wondering how your mom is doing?
ReplyDeleteOh boy, how great is it to get all the way to the quilting part on the DJ? I started mine at least 10 years ago and have only a handful of blocks.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I am really enjoying my time with some long neglected (but never forgotten) projects *s*
ReplyDeleteLori congratulations. It looks beautiful. I hope to finish mine someday.
ReplyDeleteAs you work on your DJ I hope you keep showing us. I love seeing the intricate piecing and your lovely stitches.
ReplyDeleteI see a lot of fabric still in my stash in your Dear Jane! I've made about 50 of the blocks...finish is nowhere in sight!
ReplyDeleteYou dug it out just to make me feel better!!!! Wait.....that reminds me....I believe I have a 15 year old quilt that I haven't finished hand-quilting.....
ReplyDelete:) Love the wool goodie!!!
I love to see your Dear Jane quilt. You've used some great fabrics. I'll be cheering for you to finish it up this winter too!! The pillow is very sweet. I love those red and green prints :0)
ReplyDeleteOne friend finished her Dear Jane quilting and I saw the quilt on Friday, another friend has just finished the quilting of the blocks and now I see you yours. Must be the season for Jane. Love your Henny Penny,I love working with felted wool.

ReplyDeleteGreat photos of your projects.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt, definitely finish it.
ReplyDeleteNow if I can take my own advice, lol. I got the magazine with the wool runner, how did you sew the pieces and did it get bulky?
Debbie
Nothing like an old friend on your lap all winter. It's going to be amazing when you take the last few stitches.
ReplyDeleteJust keep working on your Dear Jane and each hoop gets you closer to being done. Great job!!
ReplyDeletei ditto Janet O. comment!!!

Looks like you are feeling better. Love the quilt in your header.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Janet O. on this one.....I've had the Dear Jane book since it came out, and have yet to make a single block! Who cares how long it took....you are getting it done! Yay! And your piecing on it looks beautiful! And I love Henny Penny, too! Sweet!
ReplyDeleteMy DJane has been hiding in its box, not seeing the light of day for many months. And I'm nearly done with the center. I really should get it out and do a bit more.
ReplyDeleteNice projects, every one.
My DJ project is still in clear sleeves of my DJ pattern notebook. I did make a couple this past spring, but nothing since then.
ReplyDeleteIf you reached the border you are well on your way, you might finish it this winter ;-). Depends on how much time you have, or should I say make, to quilt it.
ReplyDeleteYou can do it.
ReplyDeleteYour DJ quilt is beautiful.
Maravillosos trabajos, tienes un blog fantástico!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing to find on your archeaological dig, lol. It's so nice to see your DJ in the hoop, beautiful photo by the way.
ReplyDeleteI love your little cushion, it looks like it was supposed to be and the wool project looks great too.

ReplyDeleteGood luck finishing your DJ! What an accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteAt least your DJ is ready to quilt. I think I still only have around 60 blocks done. A decade project for sure! Yours looks great. Your initials were just the right touch on Henny Penny.
ReplyDeleteNo pressur - but I can't wait to see the Dear Jane quilt all finished! It is absolutley wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWow Lori - love your DJ! Mine is still just a pile of blocks (and not a huge pile, either!). I kind of like the cut off points - it gives the pillow even more charm.

ReplyDeleteGreat projects all! It must be really exciting to be quilting your DJ. Ten years is nothin'!
ReplyDeleteI just pulled my Dear Jane top out of the closet today and decided I'm going to get it basted so I can start to hand quilt it this winter. I started mine in 2001 and just keep coming back to it. Your quilting looks wonderful, and I hope to see the finished quilt on your blog later this winter.
ReplyDeleteJane is just beautiful!happy quilting. Henny Penny is so cute and it needed your initials.
ReplyDeleteHope our Mom is healing well.
Get on with that quilting and make sure the finale does come soon - so worth it! The cushion is sweet and you initials are the final touch to a great project. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteYour DJ is going to be a treasure! It looks beautiful. Hope you gets some sweet moments to stitch on it.
ReplyDeleteAnd Henny Penny is so lovely. I like your initials added. The wool is wonderful...might have to cut into some myself :-)
Oh my! Your DJ must contain some amazing older line prints, how wonderful!!!! And....you are handquilting it!!! They do say though that every woman who makes and complets a DJ automatically becomes a Goddess!!! Hats off to you, hope you get a lot of stitching time over the winter!!!
