I completed the binding last night on my little quilt. it's small but I always get a sense of satisfaction from it. It is still a bit dark this morning so the photo isn't as detailed as I would like.
I did a simple cross hatch approx 1' apart. I marked using a Hera marker and if the lighting is poor when trying to quilt my lines can go astray. I was at my dad's and the lighting is not good at all. The quilting keeps in line with the primitive style of this quilt.
This is what I used for the backing.
I wasn't going to add a linky, but why not? If you have made a harmony quilt please add the link to your blog post. If you don't have a blog send me a photo and I'll post it.
Love and hugs
Enjoy your weekend.
Looks so nice all hand quilted & a great backing! I'll be getting to mine soon, after finishing a marathon cutting session. Excited to see other versions. Bet there are lots!

Harmony - your version is wonderful; love the cross hatching. Thanks for another inspiring quilt to interpret. I do hope the linky stays open for awhile since I haven't yet started made the first cut, though the fabrics are laying in a pile, just waiting. :-) I like to see everyone's quilts altogether on the linky - that's always a treat for me!
ReplyDeleteI love how this turned out! When I was under the weather a few weekends ago I went through all my quilt history books and tagged every quilt picture I might want to reproduce (I talked about this on my blog). This one is near the top of the list, though I can't remember which book it is in. I'm like you - I will need to piece mine "precisely" - I can't live with anything else. Seeing yours really makes me want to forge ahead! I need to finish other things first. In the meantime I can enjoy all the pictures you post.
ReplyDeleteLovely little quilt! Handquilting it makes it even more special!
