Country Roads Mystery Quiltalong Part 1

In case you missed it, HERE is the requirements for Country Road Mystery Quiltalong.

Your blue strip is going to be a bit longer than your red strip. Start by cutting one (1) 1 1/2" square from your 9 blue strips. Then sew a red and blue strip together.
Press toward the blue. Then sub cut into eight (8) 1 1/2" rectangles. This is what you should have from each red and blue pair.
Match them up to make four (4) four patches.
This is what you'll have. You'll also have 9 -1 1/2" squares of your blues.

Do that with all nine of your red and blue strips. Pretty easy, huh? Admire your cute little 4 patches.

Next Monday I'll post the next step.

  3. OK. I picked out some fabrics yesterday - don't know if I picked enough, but will look for more if I didn't. I think you got some junk comments! Strange!

  5. I got my fabrics together. Not the same as you, but I hope they will work. I think I can get teh littel 4-patches made between other stitching this week. Thanks for simple stitching.

  6. Already got nearly all of the 4 patch squares sewn. Ooh, yes, definitely some "junk" spammy comments. This is why I moderate all comments. It helps keeps spammy comments and comments unrelated to sewing/crafting from the blog. Some people will see a blog or website that has a lot of visitor traffic, and make such comments for the sole purpose of trying to gain more traffic to their own site. So sad, isn't it?

  7. I seem to have the worst timing lately. I will be traveling for the next month so probably won't be able to work along with everyone else. Same thing happened last fall with the Bonnie Hunter mystery...traveling! I will catch up when I return home in a month.

  13. Came over because I just saw the preview of the Sept/Oct Quiltmania -- congrats on your "Bloggers Corner" spread! Definitely will be picking up that issue. Haven't been by in a while and so I'm glad I'm just in time to see your new Quilt Along. Will take a look at what's required and hope that I have what's needed to do it. If I can't, I know it will still be fun to watch everyone's progress and the reveal at the end!
