Tonye, our teacher had this wonderful ring of bright colors that she uses for applique. How convenient is that?! I ordered one right away and love it already.
I got mine from Superior Threads.

Cute, cute, cute! You're going to love using that ring of thread - I have one for my hand applique projects.
ReplyDeleteI love that set of bobbins. I think I have to have one.
ReplyDeleteGREAT house!
ReplyDeleteI love your new house! Great idea with the thread.
ReplyDeleteLove the wonky houses Lori - looks like lots of fun. I'd love to know where to get the ring of thread - that would solve me a lot of thread problems. Is it suitable for hand applique?

I had to laugh because I just posted about my donut too before I saw your post. It's great and I should have got it sooner. Love your wonky block so much, each one is more appealing than the last.
ReplyDeleteI am loving your houses. The donut is a must have and now on my shopping list when I go to Paducah.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute house!! I love it! I once took a class from Becky Goldsmith and that is what they recommend, putting the colors you will use for thread on bobbins and then putting them in the donut. Great for traveling!
ReplyDeleteCA-uuuuuuuuute! I've seen those rings of threads but since I don't use too many brights or hand applique much...it stayed behind. Sure pretty to look at...like candies.
ReplyDeleteI have had one of those rings for ages but have not filled bobbins to put into it.
ReplyDeleteI just went from the perfection of a house on an HGTV show to seeing your wonky houses. The HGTV house is OK, but yours have personality and life and fun! Love it!
ReplyDelete(Your curvy, funky landscaping is my preference too.)
Oh, I am loving this!!!!
ReplyDeletewonderful colorful house -
ReplyDeletethe donut of thread looks like a great idea. I'm addicted to silk thread for applique' but I guess I could spin my own? It looks really convenient for taking along
have fun --
Love that wonky house!
ReplyDeleteCute house! Very whimsical and looks like a fun place to visit :)
ReplyDeleteLove the bobbin set, it's art in itself.
I adore your wonky house!
ReplyDeleteGreat site!
Lori, I love the variety of your work!... from reproductions to totally funky and fun! Your houses remind me of the Dr. Seuss books and got me smiling.
ReplyDeleteI've read about the Superior Threads Masterpiece thread. Glad to hear you like it. I'm adding it to my wish list.
That might well be the sweetest donut I've ever seen *s*
ReplyDeleteYour house is adorable! I love the striped fabric on the tree trunks.
