Cheri Payne has started a blog! She has given the directions for these cute little blocks. She's calling it Soot & Ashes and they finish at 5". How could I resist?! The upper right hand block has issues- like some missing points!! Not sure what I did there, but I'm leaving it. I've loved Cheri's primitive style quilts so I'm happy she has jumped into blogging and I'm looking forward to learning more about her.

Wool Crazy...Soot & Ashes
Here is my pumpkin patch addition to Paulette's Wool Crazy Mini. I hardly hesitated to say yes when Kaaren asked if I'd like to be involved, but I have to say I was very intimidated after seeing Paulette's start! Her theme is the four seasons and I think I made my season pretty obvious. Karen is also joining in so check out the other Wool Crazy round robins.

I've enjoyed seeing the progress of the wool pincushions. The pumpkins are fabulous, Lori.
ReplyDeleteThe Soot & Ashes blocks really look great - need to check it out.
I'm liking seeing the wool pincushions come to life as you ladies share each addition.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I especially love this addition - PUMPKINS. I'm a pumpkin kind of gal. Very cute.
Your pumpkins and sunflowers are wondeful! They look so tiny.
ReplyDeleteLove your design on the wool piece, lots of little details.

Soot and Ashes! How clever! I've been accumulating blacks and whites and hadn't seen anything I wanted to tackle with them, but S&A sounds like just the ticket!
ReplyDeleteI like the pumpkins, too. Can't go wrong with orange and pumpkins! :-D
Blessings,
Mary Lou

I've gotta check out the Soot & Ashes although I'll probably regret it because I just know I'll want to join in. Why does a day only have 24 hours?
ReplyDeleteLori, your addition to Paulette's pincushion is to die for! It comes to me next so I have to decide from which of the two seasons that are left. Hmmmmmm...will it be Winter or Summer? I think I know what I'm going do already.
I love your wool piece. And I love the choice of seasons. Looks beautiful and can't wait to see more.

I love your addition to the wool pin cushion. Very cute..but I can't imagine anyone ever wanting to put pins in those little cuties?!
ReplyDeleteI like the soot and ashes blocks. The "prim" look of casual points is charming. I'll have to scoot over and visit Cheri's blog? ;)
Well, I think it looks great so far. Good work!
ReplyDeleteAren't you just lovin' Cheri's quilt so far? I have 1-4 sewn, 5 & 6 cut and I've thought about #7. I wouldn't worry about the points too much. I don't think Cheri does.
I'm a pumpkin lover from way back. Yours are adorable.
ReplyDeleteLove that name, Soot and Ashes. Small blocks, very tempting, it would only take a little ---- nope! have to be strong and focus on my WIP.
THANKS for the blog post. I went and made the Soot and Ashes blocks tonight. I thought I'd be too late and not catch up but one night, and I'm with it so to speak.
