Sunday Muse

I added a link on my sidebar. Have you wanted to learn to do embroidery? How about learning a few new stitches? Maybe you know how but you could use a brush up? I fit into all the categories!
Helen is going to start a Stitched Sunday and today is the first day. If you are interested click the link and see what she has to offer. She is starting with the basics today.

Our dear blogging friend Kaaren (The Painted Quilt) is going through one of  life's rough patches. If you'd like to be a part of cheering her up and showing her some bloggy love please visit Allie at
Allie Oops Sweet Happy Life for a quick and easy way to help out.
We are making a simple square in a square block......so simple indeed that I sewed my corner on the WRONG side of the fabric! I'm getting rusty already! LOL

  1. Easy to do. I made one last week but wasn't happy with it so I re-made it yesterday, like the new one much better.

  2. Thanks for the links. It looks like Helen's advice and posts will be just the thing this rusty/dusty stitcher needs.
And Kaaren will definitely be helped with a bit of cheer from her quilting companions, near and far.

  6. I'm intrigued with the embroidery encouragement--handwork is always so relaxing. Thanks for the heads up.

Rusty already, oh no! Well, you're already familiar with a seam ripper, I see :)

  7. I had added Helen's blog to my favorites already. I too would love to just learn to embroider decently! A great project for Kaaren...thanks for the link.

  8. I am so excited about Helen's blog - now that I have that nice little wool stash I need to know some stitches to go along with it!

I put a block in the mail for Kaaren last week. I know the quilt will bring some sunshine to her days.

  9. When I make a mistake like that, I take it personally that it's time to quit sewing for the day! I quit a lot!
