Prepping

I decided in light of Hurricane Irene, I should prep a bit more quilting for the trip. Just in case we are stuck at sea! LOL

AAQI are hoarding quilts for Houston and want to arrive with 1500 quilts for sale. Here are my 2 contributions...for now.

I was going through some scraps to cut squares for the bow-tie quilt and came across this......
Why did I keep that tiny piece that is not even 1/2" wide? LOL

    I love your 2 AAQI quilts. I just sent in one and am trying to decide what to do next.

    I was going through my scraps and came across the same small pieces. What compels us to save these...lol

    Love those AAQI flowers. Maybe they hope you will get stuck at sea, so the quilts will finish soon, but I hope you will just have a great and incredible trip without any troubles! Enjoy yourself!

    Stuck at sea??? I've been gone for far too long, but I do love the little AAQI quilts.

    I save tons of itty bitty pieces, but I'm gonna start throwing them away, I think.

    I love the blocks--all of them. Though I am typically a "traditional" type, I love that modern one, too. Now just don't accidently get them done before you leave!
    As to the tiny scrap--maybe your subconscious is planning to make a dog bed. : )

    I was hoping the hurricane would not ruin your trip. Getting seasick from rough waters would not be much fun. You probably will be having so much fun that you won't get any stitching done.

    I always run out of applique when I go on holidays - I need to learn to prep more :0) I love these flowers - I have a picture of this antique quilt as my background on my computer - I love the way it is quilted so much and with so much variety. Both of your little quilts will be wonderful!!

    We quilters have never met a scrap we haven't liked, right? I completely understand how a tiny piece like that gets saved.

    Rough waters at sea - sure hope you all will be free of any turbulence. It'd be hard to stitch if you're seasick!

    It is a great inspiration block and I like how you rendered it two different ways. Both are great! Are you going to Houston? I am hopeful I will make it this year but not positive yet.

    Wonderful interpretations of the antique block. You're so very wise to appeal to both the traditional and the modern preferences.

    I am so excited for you - a cruise, where are you cruising to?
    I would leave the quilting at home and enjoy the water, I love the ocean! Your pieces are wonderful but I bet you will have them done before you leave - Have fun!!

    Both blocks are great but I am partial to the one in repros. I just don't have any more room for scraps but pieces like that are kept by some. I hope you have a wonderful trip!
