I am going to find the book today and see what quilting is in the scallops and what color blue the binding is. I've never done a scallop binding before.
Someone had asked to see the whole thing the last time I posted about it. It has been about 10 years since I drew on the scallops- seriously I think I used a plate! I don't even remember now. I'm not sure what it will look like once I remove the basting and unfold the edges. Sort of like opening a Christmas present!! LOL You never know what you are going to find!!
I thought I'd show you one of my old favorite snuggle quilts. Millennium Garden by Jan Patek made in 2003. I put the brushed side of some cotton on the back so it's a little like flannel. It has quite a bit of machine quilting too so it makes a good winter quilt.
Have a fantastic weekend and week!! I'm leaving town for a girls retreat on Monday. It will include good friendship, sewing and a bit of wine.....
Hurrah!! You must be so pleased. Have a fun retreat!
ReplyDeleteGood on you for meeting your goal with the Jane Stickle quilt - it looks amazing!

ReplyDeleteYour Jane Stickle quilt looks great! What an achievement... - and just love your snuggle quilt too! Hope you have a good Christmas with family and friends!
ReplyDeleteI could not figure out what scallops you were talking about because the edges look straight to me. Then I read that you have the backing folded over the edges. Now it makes sense. I am in love with your quilt.
ReplyDeleteI have the Millenium Garden pattern set sitting on the back of my sewing machine cabinet. I have a bundle of Brannock and Patek fabric that I am going to attempt to use for the applique. I hope I can make it work. You made yours quite a while back. I like quilts with the brushed cottons or flannel on the back. It makes for a soft, cozy and warm feeling. My very favorite quilt to cover up with has flannel on the back.
Lori, your Dear Jane is amazing! Congratulations for reaching your goal.
ReplyDeleteYour Dear Jane is stunning! There is a rmuour around my house that I may be getting the book for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteYour DJ is wonderful. Allow plenty of time to do the binding. A scalloped binding is not a quick job. It is lovely to see the Millenium quilt made in light colours. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on meeting your goal on the DJ quilt. For some of us, DJ is a life-long project. Your Patek quilt looks very snuggly. Wish I was under it right now!
